I was staying a week so upgraded to a suite for $25 a night. It was wonderful. The planners made the suite so spacious with many thoughtful extras. he kitchenette was great, and we bought food at Pete's Frutopia a few blocks away (like Whole Foods). All the staff were so nice and helpful, always going the extra mile. The roof top deck was amazing. We ate dinner there (with food from Pete's) 4 nights, meeting other guests. It was almost like we were in a home or neighborhood, except it was a wonderful and beautiful hotel. The hotel breakfast is perfect fine--hard boiled eggs, several fruits, bagels, toast, coffee, hot oatmeal, many cereals and very good coffee. I was here for a business conference for a week, and brought my husband.

The hotel is at the top of the hill, however, always good to stretch out the hamstrings. The local neighborhood (where the university is) was great---stores, restaurants, the Botanic Gardens, and nice "vibe' somewhat like Jamaica Plain in Boston or Park Slope in Brooklyn.

All of Halifax is walkable, very nice, lovely kind people, great food.

Room Tip: The view of the harbor is wonderful. All rooms very well designed for comfort, quiet, great matress...

Hi BostonNikki.... NovaScotiaScottie here..... thank you for speaking so highly of our hotel and city. When the sun shines Halifax is as cool as any city around. As for the rooftop deck it still amazes me after four years of working here how on so many nice summer nights our rooftop deck become a social spot for our guests. Two or three different groups will go up there to use the BBQ and/or take in the awesome views and by the end of the night the deck furniture is in on big circle because everyone "hung out" with each other. The same thing happens with Wednesday night socials here. Last night we had over 80 guests join us in the lobby for a few bevies, light snacks and great chat...again everyone hanging out together. We are super excited about the new lounge we are planning for our guests to have another awesome spot to hang out with each other (and us) no matter what the weather. So thanks again BostonNikki and until your next stay with us NovaScotiaScottie is out!

My wife and I stayed one night here when seeing the NS International Tattoo. Very well appointed rooms with 'fridge, microwave, cocktail sink and coffee maker. Good quality crisp linens and towels. Flat screen TV and a comfortable bed with a chesterfield. Well maintained. Continental breakfast was of high standard and dining area open and well lit. We were on a bus tour and were very pleasantly surprised at the hotel and it's location just two blocks away from the Metro Centre at the base of the Citadel but not at all noisy. Even the air conditioning was quiet but effective!

The hotel was very clean. Staff were very easy to talk to and accomodating. We were trying to find a couple places in town and they were quick/glad to help.

Our room was fantastic. I would definitely stay here again.

I only wish the breakfast had of had more selection but other than that the breakfast was fantastic.

Room Tip: both of our rooms were great - harbour view is the best

The Cambridge Suites in Halifax, NS are located in the old downtown area, close to tourist attractions and to the waterfront. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff is very accommodating. Halifax is a tour destination for cruise ships in the summer, and there is a lot of activity near to the hotel. My only complaint is the extra charge for parking.

This hotel is extremely comfortable and the staff are wonderful. I had a room on the 5th floor facing a park rather than the city, but I loved the peaceful outlook. The room is large and my room had sort of a dressing area separate from the main room, which I thought was good. The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have slept in. The hotel was very quiet. It is on a quiet street, but just around the corner from one of the shopping streets, and within walking distance of the waterfront. The room had a microwave and plates and cutlery as well as a fridge, which allowed me to be fairly self-contained. The only downside was breakfast, which was fairly limited, to bagels, toast, muffins and a few extras. You can buy additional items for breakfast. When the staff found out I was leaving early in the morning they arranged for a take away breakfast which was lovely of them. I had a good pizza from room service one night.

Stayed here 24-28 June 2012. Awesomely appointed King Suite with most excellent view of Harbour and close to everything. Though I was alone on this trip for business, I realized that my partner and I could very easily make ourselves comfortable here for a social visit. The bedroom had doors so it could be easily set off from the living/kitchen area. There was a tv in the bedroom and living room area. The living area also had a large desk with two chairs to separate fun from work. The kitchenette had a nice eating area overlooking the city. Having a fridge, microwave, dishes, coffee pot and sink would easily allow for a family meal. I also think the couch may turn into a bed (unsure?). A quick walk to to the shops and Citadel and 5 minutes to anywhere downtown.

As you walk in the doors swing open for you and you are greeted by the ever cheerful reception team. The place is spotless all the way around.

Breakfast is in included each morning and provides great coffee, cereals, bagels, juices and muffins of all sorts - no need to walk away hungry.

Try it. You'll like it!
