My husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Halifax a couple days before we were to head to the airport.
We found this hotel online and found it to be a nice place to stay. One of the things I liked was that I had trouble printing my e-ticket for the airplane and the gentleman behind the receptionist desk was very helpful and in the end I was able to print my tickets.
The only thing that we didn't like was that the pool area was quite noisy! There were small children in the pool making alot of noise and their parents not telling them to be quiet. All in all it was still a nice stay and we would reccomend this hotel.

Room Tip: This hotel did not have a restaurant, but it did have a complimentry breakfast.

This is your typical Holiday Inn. Clean and neat with adequate breakfast. It could be anywhere, they are all the same. We paid $150 which is standard for these chains, but a bit more than we usually pay. You know what you get and they deliver. Nothing special and no surprises.

While this is not a terrible hotel, it is definitely not the best Holiday Inn Express I’ve ever been to. There’s an odd kind of smell when you first walk in that’s not entirely pleasant. The rooms and bathrooms are nothing special, but there’s not really anything wrong with them and the service is decent. WiFi is free, which is always a plus. The breakfast on the other hand was really quite awful. I’ve seen some reviews which would disagree, but I have no idea what the sausages were made of and the “omelettes” were most definitely frozen and microwaved.
The other issue with this hotel is the location. I actually booked this particular Holiday Inn Express by mistake. I thought I was booking the one near the airport and took a free airport shuttle to the wrong hotel. It ended up resulting in a $53 cab ride to finally get here. If you are looking for a place to stay by the airport I really recommend looking closely to make sure that you are at the other Holiday Inn Express. This one does not have a free shuttle (or a shuttle of any kind) and it’s a pricey cab ride to get to the airport or Halifax city.
All in all this place is really just okay but if you’re looking for anything other than a room near the highway for a night I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Room Tip: If you're visiting Nova Scotia during tourist season be sure to book in advance. I was surprised...

While the majority of our guests find our location ideally central to all the city of Halifax has to offer, I do apologize for the inconvenience you experienced of not having access to an airport shuttle. Metro Transit bus service is a cost effective way to visit downtown Halifax with a pick-up and drop-off point across the street from our hotel. Thank you for taking the time to comment on the Holiday Inn Express Halifax-Bedford.

We stayed at this hotel one night. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. We had to leave early so we could not have the breakfast but our friends told us that the breakfast was good. The hotel is near the highway which makes it easy if you are traveling by a car.

Stayed for 3 nights on our road trip to the Maritimes with children & parents. The rooms were clean & comfortable thanks to the efficient housekeeping staff. Breakfast was impressive with the ladies keeping up with the demand. Arrived early but Matt at the Front Desk was able to check us into one of the rooms. While we were getting our luggage in, he called to inform us of the availability of the 2nd room saving us the wait. Kids had a great time in the pool after a day of sightseeing. Really liked the laundry line in the bathtub which makes drying of swim things so much easier.

Holiday Inn was offering a reasonable cup of coffee for a while, called "Fancy Gourmet". Despite having a hillbilly-esque name, it wasn't bad. Lately though, the chain has started serving the worst swill I've had since my days in Cornwallis Boot Camp back in the 80s, made by "Mother Parkers". This creek water brown, faintly bitter and off-tasting "coffee" will leave you with the impression that the manager who chose this brand of coffee either hates coffee, or has complete contempt for his customers. Holiday Inn, I challenge you to start serving real coffee.

Room Tip: Tell the you want a a "pet-free" room on the third floor. Ever smell that musty, wet dog...

Nice room, near Bedford and highway. We like staying here, as we travel to the south shore during our visits and it's perfect to be near the highway. Great front desk staff - always helpful with that maritime flair. Priority club members get a snack upon check-in. Rooms very nice, a/c works well, comfy beds. Breakfast included and typical express style. We asked for and received late check-out at no extra charge. We have stayed here a few times, every visit to Halifax, and we have never had an issue or complaint.

The South Shore is indeed a beautiful destination, having lived there myself at one time I can understand your return visits. We are proud to be your "home base" when in the area!
