Stayed for 3 nights on our road trip to the Maritimes with children & parents. The rooms were clean & comfortable thanks to the efficient housekeeping staff. Breakfast was impressive with the ladies keeping up with the demand. Arrived early but Matt at the Front Desk was able to check us into one of the rooms. While we were getting our luggage in, he called to inform us of the availability of the 2nd room saving us the wait. Kids had a great time in the pool after a day of sightseeing. Really liked the laundry line in the bathtub which makes drying of swim things so much easier.

Holiday Inn was offering a reasonable cup of coffee for a while, called "Fancy Gourmet". Despite having a hillbilly-esque name, it wasn't bad. Lately though, the chain has started serving the worst swill I've had since my days in Cornwallis Boot Camp back in the 80s, made by "Mother Parkers". This creek water brown, faintly bitter and off-tasting "coffee" will leave you with the impression that the manager who chose this brand of coffee either hates coffee, or has complete contempt for his customers. Holiday Inn, I challenge you to start serving real coffee.

Room Tip: Tell the you want a a "pet-free" room on the third floor. Ever smell that musty, wet dog smell on the first floor? That's exactly what it is.

Nice room, near Bedford and highway. We like staying here, as we travel to the south shore during our visits and it's perfect to be near the highway. Great front desk staff - always helpful with that maritime flair. Priority club members get a snack upon check-in. Rooms very nice, a/c works well, comfy beds. Breakfast included and typical express style. We asked for and received late check-out at no extra charge. We have stayed here a few times, every visit to Halifax, and we have never had an issue or complaint.

Good hotel for the price.
Convenient if you don't have activity downtown.
On the highway, easy access to area.

Decent breakfast.

My family and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Bedford in June 2012. The hotel meet my expectations. It is the standard hotel quality type found throughout Atlantic Canada. Though a few updates have been made to the hotel since it first opened, don't expect trendy or industry leading decor/design. With expectations set, the hotel does offer a clean room and comfortable stay at an affordable rate for any family looking for value with a stress-free hotel. The beds were clean and provide a good sleep. The changeable duvet cover (now becoming standard in most North American hotels) is certainly a positive. One issue with the rooms: the thermostat controls are digital and can be confusing. It appeared there was little beyond the "auto" setting and for those of us wishing to sleep with the fan on, have to put up with the fan coming on and off throughout the night. The hotel does provide a great breakfast. There are hot food items available in the breakfast (ie. eggs, sausage, waffles) along with the standard continental items (ie. toast, cereal, yogurt). Located next to the hotel is a Tim Hortons, for those needing your familiar cup of coffee. The hotel does offer coin-operated laundry facilities and a small fitness room. All in all, our stay was enjoyable and we would return. I must make one point however. The pool area was a bit of disappointment. The pool liner appears to have been installed rather poorly and there were plenty of ants on the pool deck.

Your comments regarding your recent stay have been duly noted by our Management Team as well as our diligent ownership group, Advanced Lodging Inc. Please allow me this opportunity to address your comments regarding our pool liner. We collectively acknowledged the need for a brand new pool liner as it was indeed showing signs of wear after two years of use. While renovations are often an inconvenient process, a brand new pool liner was necessary and has been fully installed to date. During this time, the pool area was newly painted and new furniture and carpet areas were added for guest comfort. Thank you for your time in allowing me to notify you of our most recent hotel upgrades; we look forward to having you experience them for yourself on your next trip to Halifax!
