“Titanic victims buried here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

We visited this very well kept cemetery as a part of our tour of the Halifax area. Our guide shared some stories of a few of the victims. It was also the burial site for many victims of the Halifax explosion. It was well worth the time to stop here and see this place and remember those who lost their life in such a tragic way.

“Titanic burial site interesting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2013

Fascinating section with gravesites of some of the people who died in the sinking of the Titanic. One gravesite was originally of an unknown child who has been identified through a DNA match. Interesting design with a connection to the shape of the a ship. Good idea to combine a visit to the cemetery with a visit to the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic to see the Titanic exhibit there.

“Titanic Memorial was somber and beautiful.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2013

Be sure to read the various historical markers around the Titanic memorial area. There is some very interesting information. We were fortunate enough to have two very knowledgeable tour guides come through while we were there. While not meaning to eavesdrop, we overheard the guides giving great detail about many facts that we were not aware of. We hope you enjoy the same.
There is even a J. Dawson grave there as per the movie Titanic.
If you are in Halifax area, I believe you will want to stop here to pay your respects.

“Beautiful cemetery-Titanic victims”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2013

Visited this cemetery as part of a Halifax tour we were on. We always enjoy seeing the local cemeteries and wanted to especially see this one since it had many of the Titanic victims buried here. Paying tribute to so many lost soles and to us was a powerful experience. Visiting here is of course free but expect a lot of tourists like yourself. If you go alone try to get near a larger group who probably has a guide and learn more history from them. Was worth the visit to this beautiful cemetery and so sorry from the tragedy of the entire event.
