I've stayed in this hotel quite often, and it's quite nice and it's very handy for the train station, but the booking process is convulated to the point of being painful. The hotel is handy for pier 21 and the waterfront. The streets to the west of it are a bit sketchy. Because of the difficulty in booking ( even if you call the hotel directly, you are transferred to a call cantre God knows where) I would not stay her if I wasn't going on the train

Since one might never know the weather or if the Ocean will arrive on time, we decided to book at the Westin connected directly to the VIA station. It was an excellent choice with a short walk from the concourse to checkin, with friendly reception and a newly renovated lobby. The rooms and services were great, with a nice welcome note and half bottle of wine greeting us. Since it was relatively late, we chose to eat in the lobby bar which has the full menu and great beverages. The seafood chowder is NOT to be missed and the best I have ever had in my life. I would come back here JUST for that.

There are hints of the age of the hotel here and there, including some of the noises from the ventilation system and pipes and such, but generally found everything more than adequate.

We stayed for breakfast in the morning and found the waffles and omelettes excellent along with the rest of the spread. The restaurant staff were as friendly and professional as everyone else we encountered.

To top it off, we found the on premise car rental very handy to get around for a quick day and save money compared to a cab to the airport.

I checked in here for two days, and Westin's service was great, and they provided us with a bed and a basin for our dog, because we brought our dogs here. And they provide valet parking service. Also, the rooms of Westin are pretty new and clean.it is a very nice choice for the trip.

Check-in - it was fast but the front desk staff were more practical that inviting.

Parking - parking is way to the back of the hotel. We arrived after 7pm on a friday night and had difficulty finding a spot. Some parking spots are not lit well.

Room - It was clean and spacious. The bathroom door did not lock or close fully. The weirdest was the toilet. It was a commercial toilet ! Big TV.

Restaurant - we ate the breakfast buffet twice. Very good for the price and the selections were nice. The waiter, Bogdon, was the greatest...very pleasant young man who ensured all his clients were taken care.

Thw hotel bar is situated in an open area next to the lobby desk. It got very loud when all the spots wer taken.

Room tip: rooms to the back of the hotel have a view of the harbour.
