This is the best park to walk and if you have a dog then your canine can enjoy the visit also. Very clean and well situated in Halifax

We drive into Halifax regularly to take our dog for a walk in the off-leash area and we absolutely love the scenery and the friendliness of the other dog walkers. A must for a dog owner. Oh and there is area for non-dog owners so if dogs are not your thing it is still a beautiful spot for walking/running.

The park is the perfect spot to take a lesiurely stroll with someone or on your own.... stroll along the water up to the gazabo...... but beware the dogs run freely until 10 am each morning.......

From here you can see ships entering or leaving the harbour and also the amazing container port. There are also military gun sites used to protect the harbour and tunnels (?) used by the military remaining for viewing and, the anchor of one of Canada's aircraft carriers mounted on a block. The walk through the park is quite scenic and very pleasant.

We try to have a walk in the park when ever we are in Halifax. Even the lose of all trees in Hurricane Juan had a positive, now in the fall you can see the harbour from deeper into the park. I also like the old gun placements that evoke a since of past importance to the park.
