“Where the woods meet the ocean, right in Halifax”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

Even though the Park has lost many trees 9 years ago after the hurricane Juan hit the city, this park is magnificient, nature has started to regrow and the scars from the storm are slowly disapearing.
Take a walk on the gravel paths throughout the park and walk on the beach and watch the cruise ships sail away. Awesome.

“Big beautiful park right in the city”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

Wilderness right in the city. Berry-picking in season. Lots of paths, mostly well surfaced. Areas where dogs must be on the lead. Fall colours. Shakespeare performances in summer.

“Great historic park for a stroll, jog, with or without dog.”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

Actually this park is quite big with several paths to choose well marked.
Paths are quite wide with lots of room for everyone, incl areas for dog off leash. I particularly love the historic fortifications and the view of the harbour.
Too bad that an hurricane ruined quite a few trees.

“Point Pleasant Park”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

Beautiful park with lots of history in the form of buildings. I got to walk the trails in the park and saw the devastation of the last hurricane which rolled through. But I was glad it was on my itinerary. Great ocean views from some spots. Also great colour in the park as I was there in October after the leaves had turned.

“Doggie Park”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Great trails for a walk, run, or bike ride. Lots of people take their dogs for long walks. There are off leash areas, and most areas are on leash only. You can access all year round. Plenty of shade from the trees and walk ocean side too!
