“Wilderness in the city!”

Love that there are different trails for dogs and people, so runners or walkers who don't want to run into dogs will be comfortable as well. Great views, people and trees!!

“A Halifax treasure!”

Great place for a relaxing walk with the dogs! Lots of folks to stroll with and go early enough so the dogs can have fun, too!

“Best Park in the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2011

Its amazing that the whole south end of Halifax is Point Pleasant park. A large park, like a maze almost.. You should go to the south end of the park where the abandoned navy homes are, all concrete, sit in one and just watch the vast ocean. Its beautiful

“Nice park- download a map before you go.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2011

This was a nice park, but quite a walk from downtown, so taking pubic transit is probably best for most. I agree that it is mostly used by dog walkers, but I didn't have any negative encounters. There are map signs near the entrances, and trails are marked with names, but it was confusing to navigate once you are on the trails without a map because you didn't know which trails to take to get where you wanted to go. I would recommend using the googlemap from their website http://www.pointpleasantpark.ca/en/home/maps.aspx
It also explains the points of interest, which are marked with large numbers in the park, but otherwise have minimal info.
I was there to see a Shakespere by the Sea play in the park. The play was fantastic, and good value for $15 donation - they run all summer, with matinee shows on the weekend. The problem was finding the "theatre" which is not shown on any map, and no signs either. The concession stand staff had no idea where it was either. Finally I asked a dog walker who gave me directions - it is at the Cambridge battery site, near the martello tower for anyone else who plans to go.

“One of the best things in Halifax!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2011

This park rocks! The views are spectacular, the trails are wonderful, the whole place is very well cared for, abundant parking. And there are many trails where you can have your dog OFF leash which is amazing.
