“We built this nation...”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

We built this nation, by walking through these doors... A historical walk with those that came in as displaced persons just after WWII, and those who were part of the professional category when airplane travel was not the norm! The museum is well organized and certainly had an emotional effect on me.

“NStour”

What a wonderful display. Includes a guided tour and many inter-active facilities. If you have any ancestors who may have arrived at Piers 2 or 21, the excellent assistants in the research room will print out copies of any information that may be found.

“Incredible personal history”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

If you have family members that arrived in Canada via Pier 21 or a grandfather who went off to the second world war through the doors of this facility, it is an amazing way to appreciate their experience. Exhibits are very well done - telling the story without overwhelming you. Classically Canadian: just patriotic enough to stir without being over the top!

“Immigration Museum”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

The video was great, but the rest just ho-hum
The database of immigrants was interesting, but they needed exact names or dates, so we couldn't access anything

“so many immigrants”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

We took about three hours to tour the visual displays at this immigration museum. An excellent job was done of explaining how hundreds of people were processed in an orderly fashion, many not speaking English. There were many organizations helping out. My favorite display was set up like train compartments. By entering a compartment and sitting down a video would begin with an immigrant explaining his or her story and what was experienced at Pier 21. Don't miss it.
