Lots of interesting information. One section is devoted to the Titanic. Not that interesting for little kids not very much hands on activities for them to do.

This is a superb museum. Enjoy the educational film, and tour the exhibits, which include the only deck chair recovered from the Titanic's complement.
It celebrates the saga of this powerful and totally avoidable tragedy, a colossal testimony to the corruption, ignorance and hubris of the owner, the architect, the builders, the captain, and the crew...and the power of greed.
There are also many other exhibits to be enjoyed...worth a visit of several hours.

Only a small museum, but it has fascinating artefacts from major events, especially the Halifax Explosion of 1917 and the sinking of the Titanic. Well worth a visit.

Two of the biggest stories about Halifax are the Halifax Explosion and the sinking of the Titanic. This museum has information about both, including a short film on both events. There are artifacts from both events as well. The cost is reasonable and it takes about 2 hours to get through the musesum. It also includes additional exhibits on ships and other maritime items. The cost is very reasonable. I highly recommend this museum.

It was a rainy day in Halifax and visiting the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic turned out to be a great choice, and not just because it was raining. There were several film clips about the history of Halifax, including information of how Halifax is connected to the sinking of the Titantic, the explosion in the Halifax Harbor in the early 1900's, and others. There were also many excellent exhibits that made the museum worth the visit, included a tour of a Canadian Navy ship. The personel at the museum were also very helpful with information about the city of Halifax. Remember to bring your AAA card to receive a small admission discount.
