“Good Fresh Food - Cozy Atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2012

It's hard to describe Jamieson's. It's everything you'd picture a small Irish Grill to be. It has a warm atmosphere with a very old and run down look but that is part of the charm and it is decorated that way and is acutally in a fairly new building. While the menu is not one of the most extensive I've encountered, each item on the menu is always prepared to perfection and made with fresh ingredients. You can always tell the good restauraunts by the feeling in your stomache when you leave. Never bloated but allways satisfied. Their steaks done in a red wine glaze are as good or better as any of the higher priced steak houses in the downtown area and worth a 10min drive to the suburbs in my opinion. Many people must agree, because the restauraunt is often very busy but the services is consistent whether it's busy or not. It's also boasts very good desserts (try the cheesecake :) and a good selection of Irish Ales and after dinner coffees. Casual atmosphere with fine dining quality food make this place a great value overall.

You would never know it's in a strip mall once you're inside. The food is delicious.

“NO IRISH BREAD!!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2012

We took our daughter and husband here for lunch not long ago after a lapse of several years. We were all disappointed that their Irish soda bread was not available and apparently only sporadically. Our daugthter had the seafood chowder which was excellent. I opted for the Ploughman's lunch. Granted it was a huge helping (too much so) but the beef was overcooked and dry. We have had beef in many forms there in the past and this is the first time had a complaint. It tasted like it had been sliced too long and sitting on hold. Apparently the fruit crumble ( I think that is what it was called) was very very good. Overall, we felt that their standard had dropped.

“Neat place, with OK food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2012

There was nothing bad about this place, but there was nothing that grabbed me as great either. The lamb was pretty salty, the steak on a prior visit thin and not the best cut of meat. The service is good, and the scotch list extensive. I was told the mushroom sauce on the menu was to die for, and again, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't to die for either.
