“Saturday Farmer's Market worth the trip”
Review of Alderney Landing

Alderney Landing

Great spot to visit on a Saturday morning. Lots of vendors, wonderful pastries and live music at 10 am. If you are staying in Halifax take the ferry over for a nice view of the harbour and avoid worrying about traffic and parking.

Loved the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings.
The seafood spot to the right facing the harbour that is open daily is terrific. reasonable prices and the seafood chowder was very good and their haddock lightly breaded ,fresh and wonderful.
The ferry landing is fun to ride or just watch from the benches inside or out side.
The library is also here and is great,as are some of the other venues .Go and enjoy

Great place to buy local produce and baked goods. Many other vendors there on Saturday. The produce is always fresh, the baked goods are home made. The crafts are all made by local people. Parking is usually busy but not hard to find. Get there early on Saturday fro best selection.

Alderney Landing is the Dartmouth water front, right across the harbour from Halifax.

Many functions are held there throughout the year, especially the summer months. There is a large indoor theatre where events are held, plus an outdoor stage and plaza. So it can be exciting or quiet depending on what's going on at the time.

You will have an excellent view of the harbour and its traffic, and be able to stroll along the waterfront in a park like atmosphere.

There is a place for small boats to dock, and a small marina nearby. It is also one of the terminals for the Halifax/Dartmouth passenger ferry that crosses the harbour regularly.

Many people choose to park their vehicle at Alderney Landing and take the ferry to Historic Properties on the Halifax side. It is an enjoyable little cruise that I am sure you will enjoy.

Alderney Landing has small restaurants nearby and some small shops with typical items.

Metro Transit buses stop out front street side and can take you to other Dartmouth places should you desire to do so.

Alderney landing is a pleasant place to hang out for awhile and relax, especially if you like being near the water.

Plenty of parking, a few restaurants, but little to encourage you to stay Dartmouth side and not pop across to Halifax. Best place to park if staying on the Dartmouth side and visiting Halifax.
