It was very educational, and enjoyable. The tour guides were all very welcoming and helpful, and they also dressed the part, which was pretty cool. One thing i liked the most about this fort, is that every single room is very well done, with furs, bunks, and actual wood in the fire places(which i thought was a nice touch) i had an overall blast at Port Royal, and if someone was to ask me if they should go or not, i would highly recommend that they should go.

I traveled here with my history class, and I was excited to do so. Our country's founding and history really intrigues me and I was more than willing to learn some more about this historic landmark. Seeing the way people lived over four hundred years ago is in a colony that was almost exactly like this one was very interesting to think about, and made me think of what it was actually like living there when the colony was first created. The tour was exceptional, as me and my class learned a lot about how the colony was founded, why it was founded, and the culture that surrounded it. This site is very educational and teaches a lot about the founding of this wonderful country. If you want to learn about how Canada came to be, this site should be at the top of the list.

We really enjoyed learning about the history of this site dating back over 400 years. Fascinating to hear and read about the relationship between the English, French and the local Indians (going back 1000's of years). Very hard to imagine what life must have been like for the first 15 settlers. The descriptions of each of the rooms along with the map make for a very leisurely visit. The guides were authentic and knowledgeable. Well worth a visit for sure. Modest Fee.

there is SO much to learn from visiting this site. the relations to settlements such as jamestown for example. the particular national historic site is particularly well reconstructed, restored and displayed. exceptionally presented, the entire area is well kept, clean and so very well described from it's early inception and formative days of habitation until the end of this site's usefulness as a seat of power in the new world. any fan of the north american historic dynamic will be enlightened and perhaps surprised by the importance this constituency played in the formation of a Canadian presence in the maritimes.
