I read the previous review and was going to give this course a miss. On the day i played it was a par 3 comp so the course was quite busy.
Before going onto the course i had the opportunity of speaking with the owners. Whilst i agree with a lot of the comments made. I think there are a couple of things to bear in mind. Firstly the local population in quite small therefore they do not have that many members meaning that regular income is therefore limited. To maintain a course to a reasonable standard you need extensive ground staff and equipment , which the course does not have. In addition it would appear that so far as tourists are concerned then they only have about 6 months of a season and then everything locally would appear to shut down meaning even less opportunity for them to accumulate some income.
Having said that i found the fairway grass was quite long some of the greens had aireated and were therefore quite rough.I played the course after a signiicant amount of rain so it was quite wet. The cost of the round was $28 which is about the same as a public pay and play in england. This is about 50% cheaper than the pines in digby. As i am on vacation i hired a set of clubs which were very cheap. So long as your expectations are realistic then you should be fine. I personally would not play the course again.
