My wife and I stayed at the Inn in July 2013. It is a nice 19th century wooden building and well positioned in this charming old town, but when we arrived, as commented by another reviewer, there was no real welcome. A far as I know we never met the owner. We were told our room was on the top floor, and although we are both in our 70s, nobody offered to help with our bags. The second staircase was particularly awkward, being narrow. The room was clean and comfortable, provided you minded your head! As it was in the roof, the ceiling sloped sharply at the sides and there was a real risk of banging your head when getting up from the bed. The same problem was in the bathroom: a normal sized person simply could not stand upright at the toilet.
Again, as suggested in another comment, it is really a restaurant with a B&B attached. However the one evening meal we ate there was not particularly memorable and the service was poor - we never got a bill that evening and had to ask for it on checking out at the end of our stay. The breakfasts were very good, though.
I would like to revisit Annapolis Royal, but I would stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: Avoid the top floor.

This is a beautiful inn with a wonderful dining room and outstanding chef. We ate dinner at the inn, which was a gourmet delight, and the breakfast was exceptional also. This inn is within walking distance of everything in this quaint, charming town.

It's a small Inn, not a bed breakfast, which is nice - the charm of a historic home with a little more privacy. Staff was very friendly and very accomodating. Location is perfect - in town, right across from Fort Anne. Our room had nice oriental rugs and a very large bathroom and a jacuzzi.

This b&b was well run, organized, nicely decorated, and clean . It is well situated in the town and provides parking. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and really enjoyed talking with the owner and chef Patrick who, by the way, has the best restaurant in town. The dining rooms are cozy and casual; service was very good, and the ambiance in general was perfect. I highly recommend this b&b as well as its restaurant.

Room Tip: We stayed in room #7 and although the room seemed small we fell in love with the skylights and the b...

Perfect location, attractive rooms. Not luxurious, but extremely comfortable and the service was excellent. Dinner was very very good, nice grilled pinapple and lobster salad served in a large martini glass and to-die-for Digby scallops! No room for dessert unfortunately . . . next time. Good breakfast -- nothing fancy but filling and healthy. A very satisfactory stay and all the staff were friendly, helpful and clearly wanted your stay to be comfortable and enjoyable.

Room Tip: If you can't climb stairs, this is not for you or at least make sure your room is on the second...

We stayed with Patrick at the Garrison House Inn and had the most wonderful time. Our room was great, the food even better. It was lots of fun to be able to walk across the street to participate in the historic graveyard tour. Candles, cool autumn air, very romantic!

Just had a wonderful dinner there. Wonderful dining experience. Was not staying here, but would guess it would be a nice place to stay in this lovely town. Annapolis royal is a very pretty town with a lot of charm and history.
