“History can be fun!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2013

Our costumed guide, Alan Melanson, was Acadian by descent and proud of it. We learned lots of history of the area using the tombs as a reference and the walk through the graveyard by candle light was charming. I'll remember this history for a lot longer than any learned in school. Highly reccommend this to anyone- even if you think you're not into the history thing!

Not at all what I expected -- not meant to be frightening! The tour guide really knows his stuff! We learned many fun tidbits of history!

“Fascinating History”

This was well worth seeing. Annapolis Royal is steeped in history and they take it seriously. We had a fascinating and entertaining lesson in Acadian history as well as about the history of Fort Anne.

“Don't miss the Graveyard Candlelight Tour!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

If you are ever in Annapolis Royal, please take the Graveyard Candlelight Tour! This was a special experience. We have never been to anything quite like this. The tour guide, Alan, a 10th generation Acadian, is a fountain of information regarding the 4 centuries of history of the town and area. He is also proud of his heritage and of his townspeople's' desire to preserve the history. Alan is a wonderful speaker and captivates the audience, so much so that everyone was very quiet and respectful. The procession of people through the cemetery with candle lanterns is a real sight.

“A truly unique way to get a history lesson.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2013

It was a great experience and mother nature provided the ambiance, a little fog and mist. The tour guide knows his history and has a personal connection to many of the characters he speaks about. Be sure to get there early.
You may want to wear sneakers, the grounds are a little uneven and it is dark... Definitely worth the $7.
