Well-designed and informative paths and buildings, overlooking the Bay of Fundy gives one an insightful understanding of its history.

Lovely location by the Annapolis River. Self-guided tour in historic building has wonderfully displays with very informative historical aspects of the past, specifically the Acadians.

Despite it being a rainyish day, we really enjoyed walking around Fort Anne. The grounds are very interesting and the self guided tour easy. We spent about an hour walking around as part of an overall walkabout Annapolis Royal. Because we were off season, there weren't the usual costumed soldiers and activities at the Fort but it was still very enjoyable. You really shouldn't miss it if you're visiting the town.

Fort Anne which belonged to the French and the English and changed hands many times in the 17th century is a wonderful place to visit and historically significant in the history of Old Canada prior to 1763. Walking around the fort is necessary to visit this site and notice that much of it is on grass and can be slippery if wet. History of the place is well presented and easy to understand. Recommend it.

If you like history, there's lots to learn about at this site. There is no charge to walk the walls and the various buildings but the museum has an admission of about four dollars. Very interesting, with lots of historical info and a beautiful tapestry. Takes about an hour.
