The Blomidon Inn is an outstanding inn. I've stayed there three times in the last couple of years. The rooms are nicely decorated, the bathrooms luxurious, and the inn has loads of character. The family that runs the hotel are friendly. This is the kind of place one travels great distances in order to spend a romantic weekend. The included breakfast is decent (love that home made bread). Highly recommended. I'll be back as soon as possible.

Going to Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley? We strongly recommend the Blomidon Inn, Wolfville. Their rooms vary from modest to executive suites to a romantic cottage and are named after local places & persons; not numbered.

The former mansion of a 19th century sea captain, the inn has been run by the Laceby family for almost two decades. On each visit we find something new – there seems to be no stopping this family!

Chef Sean has won a number of culinary awards – dining is a gourmet’s delight – be it from the daily serving or from their extensive menu that varies with the season. Personally, I love their brown bread, one of Donna’s fine recipes.

Inn keeper Mike who also serves as sommelier stocks a wine cellar that has won the “Award of Excellence” from Wine Spectator magazine. We love dining in the library or the terrace in season and high tea in the rose room is a unique experience.

Donna’s House of Gifts offers you the opportunity to find that just-right gift but beware – there are far too many beautiful choices.

The grounds are well maintained and in season their gardens are delightful. I’ve been most impressed with their cactus garden (in Nova Scotia, eh). There is a walk-about on the property that gives you an opportunity to see all of the gardens, the three ponds and various rocks from the local area.

Do yourself a favour – take the time; relax; enjoy - stay at the Blomidon Inn – you won’t be disappointed!!!

We stayed at the Blomidon Inn for 4 nights in August 2005 and felt entirely relaxed and "at home". Our room was in the main house with a four-poster bed that I needed steps (provided) to help me climb into it! Beautiful gardens with plenty of seating, as well as chairs on the porch and beautiful parlour areas inside. Great buffet breakfast (no hot food) included in the room rate; complimentary tea and homemade cakes in the afternoon; fantastic dinners; very friendly host. Wolfville has a pleasant main street and a harbour area where you can see the effect of the famous Bay of Fundy tides. The Blomidon Inn was total enjoyment.

The Blomidon Inn is my all-time favorite place to be - I can't decide which I like best: the amazing food, the magnificient Victorian atmosphere, or the friendly service!

I loved it so much there (after dining there at least 4 times and staying twice), that I decided to have my wedding reception there - and I have to say that we never heard so many compliments about food and service! (The minister's wife even mentioned a year later that the reception at the Blomidon was the most lovely one she's ever been to!) Don't worry though - we were only allowed to have classical music played by live musicians and no decorations except flowers. At the Blomidon they won't let anything tacky or annoying within 100 ft!

The food here was far better than that at Tattingstone (which is overpriced!) and the Victorian Inn has only a scant breakfast with their "bed and breakfast". At the Blomidon breakfast and afternoon tea is included in your room rate. They serve you tea and there is always a broad selection of fruit (i.e. pineapple, strawberries, grapes), homemade granola, homemade bread, etc. for breakfast.

I have stayed at the Blomidon numerous times and have seen both the suites as well as the smaller, value rooms. A few rooms are a bit "country" in their decorations (not nearly as amazing as the main Inn). I liked the separate suites out back or the rooms in the main inn - they are the best in my opinion.

I would strongly recommend their dining room and a stroll around their gardens! You can't go wrong (the food here has never disappointed me!) Order the apple sorbet for dessert and if it's lunch, try out their curried vegetable soup! Delicious!!

The Blomidon Inn is a personal favourite of mine for accommodation, atmosphere and fine dining whatever the season. There is a wide choice of rooms available ranging from singles to spacious suites and something suitable for any occasion. For those very special escapes, there is a lovely romantic cottage that offers luxury and privacy beyond compare.

The surroundings are beautiful and several "common areas", complete with fireplaces, offer the chance to soak up the history of this beautiful Victorian mansion. Or perhaps you would prefer to enjoy a cup of tea on the spacious porch and watch the world pass by. The gardens are nothing if not spectacular and have been lovingly developed and maintained by the owners. They provide an opportunity to enjoy a stroll after dinner or a quiet spot to sit and read or to just relax.

The food is superb. Sean Laceby, an award winning and published chef, provides a menu to satisfy all tastes with the seafood offerings and the deserts deserving of special mention. From the continental breakfast, to the luncheon menu to the dinner possibilities, there is a wonderful blend of the traditional and the creative.
Michael Laceby is the sommelier and has been successful in developing a wine cellar that offers something for even the most discerning. He is more than accomodating in his efforts to help you choose that special wine to accompany your dinner. And there is no need to take my word for this--just check out "The Wine Spectator."
Michael also works with the very capable and friendly staff to insure the smooth operation of all areas of the inn. It is clear that the main goal is to provide their guests with a unique and satisfying stay.

If one tires of eating or relaxing there is a unique gift shop on the grounds that offers for sale an extensive variety of items all carefully chosen by Donna Laceby. Great fun to wander about and choose those special mementoes.

The Blomidon Inn is a family owned and operated business and it shows!

It is an Inn for all seasons and I always look forward to a return visit .
