“Week at the Old Orchard...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2014

A quaint hotel right off main rd right in middle of all places we wanted to go ..
The Staff :: mostly Marilyn and Crystal i dealt with were professional and very warm and friendly.. any problem that might of come up Manager Marilyn dealt with immediately ..she is an asset to the team there.. had alot of laughs when passing thru lobby and advise of where to go and see from both of these ladies.....
My Room:.. was 237 very end of lobby away from all noises that might of come from weddings or parties, was very comfortable and included a great view of the valley. even though there were bus trips coming and going and a wedding going on, i never heard any noise in my room so that is important as i hate listening to outside noises while trying to sleep..Bed was very comfortable and 4 pillows i was in heaven.....
Food.. although we never ate lunch or dinner here as we were out all day long , we did have breakfast which was fast and tasty ..basic oatmeal or eggs usually, my waitress who i had seen during week was the Best at making my Toast Burnt exactly as i wanted it!!!! Thank you wish i knew her name....
Relax time: for us was ordering a drink at nite after returning and sitting outside on balcony with adirondack chairs looking over the valley and water view...Ahhhhh..!!!! .we didnt use pool or hot tub but did see many people heading there...
I cant wait to come back again to NovaScotia and will def stay at The Old Orchard.......

Room Tip: my personal choice as all others before me say is 2nd fl with new bathrooms and great view....

A motel-like building set into the side of a hill a long way from the water, and a good distance out of Wolfville. Yes, the view is panoramic, you can see water in the distance, but to see a moving tide, forget it. Also, the highway runs between the inn and the valley. Our room was clean, roomy and comfortable and the staff was friendly enough. We had traveled all day and only wanted to settle in for the night, and too tired to look around for a meal. So we decided on the restaurant. After all, the restaurant was beautiful, with an old world look, and lots of Scottish paraphernalia plus a nice view out the window over the valley, and to the water in the far distance. But, the food. I ordered salmon which came with brown rice and fresh steamed vegetables. The salmon was dry, basically overcooked, the rice was tasteless and chewy to the point of being inedible and the tasteless vegetables remained so, even with generous sprinklings of salt and pepper. I complained to the waitress and she duly remarked that she was sorry and would tell the chef. As for my wife's meal, she ordered scallops which came with the same rice as mine and carrots. The scallops were totally tasteless, and the rice inedible, but the carrots were OK. The waitress gave us 10% off the bill, which was still far too much for a lackluster meal. So overall, it is a good place to sleep, but stay away from the dining room.

Room Tip: Ask ahead of time for a room overlooking the valley or else you'll get a splendid view of the pa...

My husband I recently got married in Wolfville and had our reception at the Old Orchard Inn in the Acadian Room and it was absolutely perfect. The staff, particularly our event manager, was so friendly and accommodating. If we had a request, they would bend over backwards to see that it was met.

We chose to have a cocktail style reception, with hot and cold hor’dourves and they were delicious! A number of our guests approached us to say how much they enjoyed the food.

I can’t thank the Old Orchard Inn enough for make our wedding day extra special!

Have stayed here many times. The rooms are a little dated but functional. The pool is small but heated; didn't try the hot tub as others were using it. The real gem is the restaurant and the our door lounge area. The food and restaurant service was excellent and sitting outdoors after dinner to relax and enjoy the view was perfect. Will continue to stay here. Recommended.

My family of four enjoyed our stay at Old Orchard Inn last week. The view alone is enough to give this hotel a five-star rating. It's breathtaking to look out on the orchard with the Bay of Fundy in the background. The rooms are dated but comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast, and my kids said this was the best pool of our week-long Nova Scotia vacation. They were so happy to be able to dive in the deep end, which is rare in hotel pools these days. Great hotel!

Was quite surprised by this hotel. From the outside, the hotel looks old and run down, however inside is quiet and quaint. Rooms are dated, and the fridges aren't as cold as they should be, but overall the room was clean, and quiet. Pool and sauna are also a great feature, and the view from the sun deck is absolutely breathtaking. Stayed at the OOI for a wedding, but the hotel was nearby places for food, as well as various beaches. Highly recommend the restaurant for both high end and low end options. Very happy with staff , prices and overall experience.

Room Tip: Suggest a room with a balcony. Otherwise you will likely get a much smaller room.

This hotel is a pleasant surprise! It is a little dated but very accommodating. The views from our room were outstanding. The restaurant was well decorated and the breakfast was delicious. We were there on the apple blossom festival weekend and had the added pleasure of sharing the breakfast room with the queen and her princesses. I didn't want to leave it was so nice. When traveling the "valley" i highly recommend staying in this hotel.
