“The Best!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013

Charlotte Lane Cafe is one of the best restaurants where we have had the pleasure of dining. My family and friends have been visiting this fine restaurant for over 10 years. It is the reason we visit the south shore every summer and our experience at this establishment is always excellent. Kathleen and Roland have perfected the dining experience and the food is always outstanding. We started going here when our children were toddlers and Roland would prepare them whatever they wanted to suit their tastes - they have since graduated to the adult menu and look forward to our annual trek to the south shore to savor the food. The Spaghettini Gorgonzola Pasta and the Zurich Pork Tenderloin (both have been on the menu for years) are our favorites and the peanut-butter pie desert is the best. The wine list is good and reasonably priced. The craft shop has an interesting collection of gifts and we always find something to take home. Highly recommend this restaurant - well worth the drive from Halifax.

“Well deserved praise”

We had heard great things about this restaurant and were not disappointed. It is a gem to find in such a small town. The creative menu was inspiring and tasty. As it is such a small space, it was unfortunate that it was a hot evening and there was no air conditioning except for fans. I wish we had known that we could have asked for a table on the deck when we booked.

“Just an Average restaurant”

After dining at Le caveau and Robicheaux and Cafe Compose.this dinner was a disappointment. Food nearly tasteless with little flavor. A ho hum dinner at best.

“Best By Far”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013

If you're getting away for a weekend in Shelburne you don't want to miss out on Charlotte Lane. As a matter of fact I would make reservations for both nights because it's head and shoulders above the rest. Great wine list, innovative cocktails and a great menu all come together at reasonable prices. If you're anywhere near the area you definitely want to stop in.
