This restaurant deserves its many awards. Great food. Great place. We've been numerous times and never been disappointed.

We stopped at this restaurant because we saw it in the "Taste of Nova Scotia" travel guide and it looked interesting. It was a little busy so we had to wait, but wiled away the time in the delightful gift shop at the front of the restaurant. I heard them calling other people on their cell phones, who has chosen to wander through the delightful village of Shelburne while they waited. The wait was worth it, for the meal was beautiful prepared and tastefully presented. Service was friendly and attentive, considering we were almost at the end of a busy lunch period on a very hot, especially for NS, afternoon. My husband was tempted by the "Cheesecake with Blueberries", which I expected would be the usual vanilla cheesecake with blueberry sauce on the top. We were pleasantly surprised by a very creamy, but not too rich, filling, studded with fresh blueberries and drizzled with raspberry coulis, which made a delicious counterpoint to the rest of the slice. I would go back again any time that I was in the area as it was one of the best meals we had in the province.

Everything was delicious & fresh. The wait staff were very helpful. The seafood crepes were loaded with baby shrimp, scallops & haddock in a rich creamy sauce. Both the sticky toffee pudding & the chocolate icecream cake were delish. See the photos.

Don't be disappointed. Make a reservation well in advance of your arrival during the busy summer season.

We made the unpleasant error of having supper at the Sea Dog Tavern - well, we went for the view really, when we should have just had drinks there. Later we found the Charlotte Lane and stopped in for dessert and coffee and I can't say enough about how good the service and food was! We met Kathy and Roland, the owners and you can see how they care deeply about good food and great service...we'll definitely be back!

Our dinner at Charlotte Lane Cafe was actually part of a package deal, so I did not know how nice it was until we got there. Great ambiance, delicious food, attentive service all made for a special evening.
