Can thoroughly recommend the three museum complex in Shelbourne. It was very well presented and represents a good historical narrative of the early times in Shelburne.

Shelburne is an interesting little town, full of history. The day we were there was very, very, hot, and that made walking and museum touring rather uncomfortable, but this is not the norm for NS. A pass for all the museums in the complex is available at a reasonable rate. The guides are well informed and pleasant, and leave you to wander on your own, rather than making you listen to a boring spiel. The complex gives you a great overview of the growth and development of Shelburne from its Loyalist beginnings to the decline of the fisheries and shipbuilding in the 20th century. Worth the trip, especially if you follow the coastal byways and watch for the many lighthouses along the way!

Spent time walking around the historic area buildings - keep a look out for tucked away gems. Interpretive costume guides in Ross-Thompson House was particularly informative, and additional thanks for bringing out some water for our very hot dog dog. Dory Museum also worth a visit.

Well versed local townspeople know the history of their town and explain it all with pride that stimulates and sets your imagination into gear. True craftsmanship is evident in the factory.

The waterfront in Shelburne is a very well-maintained and interesting historic area. It isn't large but what they have restored is very well done. There are a lot of historic homes in Shelburne that could have benefited from being restored as well as the historic complex.
