“Best Location in Shelburne”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

We stayed here in August. This inn is right on the water and
very close to walk to everything in Shelburne. Good breakfast
with lots of choices. While in Shelburne, be sure to eat at the
Charlotte Lane Cafe -- excellent!!!

I got a room in the annex on the garden side of the building. Supposedly one of the less-desirable rooms, as it didn't overlook the water. Wow! It could not have been nicer! Quiet, with a great place outside, to sit and relax . Right on the waterfront, so a quick trip through the garden, and you could take a stroll on the boardwalk. The room was clean and comfortable, and it had great room-darkening curtains! The breakfast was very good - the hostess went out of her way to accommodate special requests, and it was much appreciated. Cooper's Inn, certainly a little gem on Shelburne's waterfront.

Room Tip: If the room I had was anything to judge by, all the rooms must be great. But, if you just want a do...

A perfect inn with a perfect location, right in the historic district facing the harbour. We stayed in two different rooms as we decided to stay an extra night and our room was already booked. Pat had our second room ready before we finished breakfast. Both rooms were comfortable and well-appointed, with period furnishings and external access through the beautiful garden. Our second room was upstairs and had a view of the harbour. Wine and two glasses awaited us in each room. The breakfasts were delicious, with fresh squeezed juice, French press coffee, homemade muffins, fruit PLUS your choice of eggs, French toast, etc from the menu. We enjoyed reading in the garden after exploring the historical district. Dinner at Charlotte Lane was not disappointing. Reserve as soon as you arrive in town! We also enjoyed having drinks at the pub at the end of the harbourwalk, overlooking the water.

We had a very comfortable night here. We stayed in the John McLean room which was on the second floor in the separate building in the back. The whole property is immaculate with lovely gardens in the back. Despite being on the waterfront this was a quiet and peaceful spot. Breakfast was wonderful, freshly made and delicious. Our only disappointment in our visit to Shelburne was the lack of restaurant choice on a Monday as several places are closed on that day.

We stayed 2 nights and used the B&B as a base for our tour of the South Shore of Nova Scotia. The Cooper's Inn is a wonderful historic property on the Shelburne waterfront. Our room on the 2nd floor was one of the two larger rooms at the Inn. It had a nice view of the harbour and other heritage buildings on Dock Street. The room had a nice dormer to sit and read a book. Cable TV and free wifi also keep us entertained at night. Breakfasts were absolutely amazing - the best we have ever had at a B&B. The room was nicely appointed (4 chairs), had a Keurig machine with coffee and tea, and had a complimentary bottle of wine each night we stayed. The hosts were very pleasant and helpful. And the Inn was a 2 minute walk from Charlotte Lane, one of the best little restaurants you will ever eat at. We highly recommend a relaxing stay at the Cooper's Inn.

Room Tip: We recommend the Thomas Crowell room. It is a bit bigger and has a great view.

A picture-perfect B&B room with a king-sized bed & water view. Spacious & well-appointed. Complimentary wine in the room & a delicious breakfast selection. Very nice, friendly hosts. Lovely historical building in charming Shelburne.

Very quiet place to stay, located right on the harbour. This is a charming little inn and the ghosts didn't bother us at all! This is a great place to stay, but the breakfasts make it excellent. Pat and Paul are great hosts and we really enjoyed our stay.
