“Great Service”
Reviewed November 27, 2011

I stayed in this motel for an extended period on a business trip. The staff were very nice and accommodating... going out of their way to help us out. New mattresses, new tv's, new fridges, new hot water system. Microwaves and fridges in every room. I will stay here again the next time I am in Shelburne. Thanks Norm and Jake!

We stayed in this motel because our son was playing in a tournament. The room smelled musty until the heat was turned on. The inside was dated with old furniture and old fixtures. The staff was not friendly and told us that because we were part of a "team" we would not be entitled to the free continental breakfast even though it was off season and we still paid the same as other guests.

We stayed here for one night on a driving tour of Nova Scotia. Jim and Sandy, the owners, were delightful and the room was large, clean and quiet - even with contstruction crews staying there. The price was very reasonable. Jim and Sandy directed us to a wonderful fish market/takeout with picnic tables to the best lobster and scallops we ate while there. If you are in Shelburne you should stay here and definitely eat at Mr. Fish!

We had the opportunity to stay at the Wildwood Motel during a recent visit to Shelburne for a family reunion. Althought the motel is older (built in 1966) the rooms are spotless, the beds are comfortable and the service impeccable. There is free WiFi (a real treat when it costs $15/day at hotels), air conditioning and the stay includes free continental breakfast (served at your table, btw) and includes coffee/tea, toast or cold cereal. We'll be back if we're in the neighbourhood again.

A spur of the moment get-a-way brought us to Shelburne to dinner. Always budget conscience, this offered the best value. I was amazed at the size of the room with a nice, comfortable queen size bed, a working air conditioner and clean bathroom with plenty of towels. The owner is a very nice gentleman with a welcome smile and pleasant personality. 2 thumbs up, we will definately be back. Dinner was a Charlotte's Lane Cafe. If you are ever in Shelburne Nova Scotia, you MUST eat hear. However, reservations are highly recommended. I'e been going there since they opened in 1981 and I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Roland is an awesome chef! Two people can have a delicious (huge) dinner with a bottle of wine for under $100. My friend who had never been to this restaurant before, well he simply fell in love with it.

Room Tip: I wouldn't change a this. It's a clean, economical motel. What more do you really need?

Nothing fancy - motel is a motel, after all. Good, clean room with 2 double beds. Bathroom well appointed - plenty of towels, etc.

$CAN 70 + tax per night was good value, though breakfast is fairly basic.

Jovial owner, who wants to be on the golf course by 10.30. Life's too short to hang around work all day!
