Had a fantastic meal. Two of us shared the buffalo steak (not buffalo, not bison but musk ox and was an excellent steak) and the king seafood platter: I believe it was pickeral and arctic char on a skewer with homecut fries and salad. The food was very good, the staff are characters and the clientelle is a mix of out of towners (lots from as far away as Japan) and locals. Kind of a hippie hangout but not of the vegan variety. As one bumper sticker on the wall said "Vegetarian is another name for poor hunter".

As all food is expensive in the north I found the prices to be fair by northern standards. But be prepared. Food is Expensive.

The Arctic Char is to Die for, this place is a Fun and Happening Spot. Small, Friendly, jam packed with The Freshest of Fish, Great Atmosphere, reminded me of My Hippie Hangouts! Graffiti all over, old signs, pictures you name it. Go Relaxed and Care Free and you will leave the same but incredibly full and Satisfied :) I will see you again!

The staff are surly, you need to serve yourself drinks, and everything costs a lot. It's still the best eating out experience in Yellowknife. Pan fried whitefish is the bomb. Also, OMG the buns.

Bulock's !!! contreversy but in my point of view, I really enjoyed it !!! when you go there, you have to level your expectations at a ''something to try for the experience'' and if you like it ...then go back... of course it's expensive but HEY !!! yo are 2000 miles from everywhere !!!

Everyone somewhere has heard about Bullocks Bistro if you mention visiting
Yellowknife or surrounding area! A very rustic decor, riddled with quotations
and business cards, cramped seating with the bar seats part of the kitchen.
All of this creates an ambience that is electric, energetic with organized
confusion--staff dedicated to your desire to participate as part of the
entertainment. Features cetainly were the "very fresh fish" deep fried and
fried .like only it should be-fresh cut fries--and of course must mention--
the "house secret sauce" Wine list very simple that evening--red or white!
Great variety of beers----We asked at one point for some ice, response was--
wrong season! Overall, a ton-of-fun! A must do!
