“Found a Great Location For Aurora Borealis”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

Mom and I were picked up at our B&B and taken (with a packed van) to Madeline Lake for the best of our three nights of aurora viewing. It was a bit crammed in the van, and when folks got cold and needed to thaw out, it was a little uncomfortable, but the gorgeous 360º of aurora made up for it.

“Memories to last a lifetime”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

There are three things I loved about Joe and North Star Adventure Tours:
a) We booked two Aurora hunting tours with North Star - and the first one was cancelled by them because of cloud cover. So rather than waste everyone's time (and money) they prefer to cancel when there is no chance of seeing the Aurora. That is a client focussed business that seeks to provide value for money.
b) Joe is an engaging, knowledgable person and he was very inclusive to the groups that were on his tours
c) Most importantly, on the second night when we did see the Aurora, in the extreme cold I was having trouble with my camera and Joe offered to take photos on his camera and email them to us. That meant we could focus on enjoying the experience, and still have the photos which are memories to last a lifetime thanks to Joe. And he is a fantastic photographer, the images are awesome!

I wouldnt hesitate to recommend people go Aurora hunting with Joe. He will look after you, and provide you with a truly memorable experience! Check out their Facebook page for some great photos of the Aurora!

“Sooo disappointed by the service from this company!!!!”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

After reading the comments on this site regarding this company, we decided to book our first night watching the Northern Lights with this company. A car came to pick us up (2 pers.) and then picked up a total of 5 other persons. We were like sardine in this car!!!! Joe was supposed to "hunt" the Northern Lights, which basically mean that he was supposed to drive us to the best spot. We cannot control the Northern Lights, but he basically drop us off in a lake where 2 cars of his company joined with 7 people on each car. And that's it.... After a few hours outside, we were frozen!! They were okay for us to go back to the car, but not to put any heat on the car to warm up a bit (by minus 40!!!!!). No hot chocolate or anything was served. We watched the Northen Lights, and the car drove us back to the hotel. His cab services cost us $120!!!!!

“Great guide, great person as well”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

Joe is a great guide. We truly enjoyed his hospitality! He treated us like friends, shared with us his stories and his culture. Making plans with Joe you know you will get your money worth. Joe has a busy schedule, so if you want to make plans with him, I suggest to book a bit ahead of time just in case his schedule is full. Thanks Joe for the amazing adventure! =)
