“Better than the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2012

Joe seems to have the magic power to call Aurora to show up. On that day we arrived, it was rainy, cloudy and windy. Everybody we met in the town told us there wouldn't be any chance to see Aurora. But we did! It was amazing! The excellent service, delicious food, surprising activities and knowledgeable tour guide made everything go smoothly and happily. I would like to say " Aurora is the best natural scene and the Northern Star Adventure is better than the best " !

“Marvellous memories of Yellowknife”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2012

On our first visit to Yellowknife, we were treated to the best guide possible: Joe Bailey, "The Dragon of the North"! Joe took us out on Great Slave Lake for a four-hour eagle-spotting trip, during which we got sensational close-ups of several Bald Eagles and an eyrie. Joe is great fun to spend time with and he will adapt your tour any which way you want. Thanks for the memories, Joe, and we look forward to visiting with you again.

“Best way to see the Aurora!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2012

Everyone should do this great trip with Joe! He is an aboriginal guy born and raised watching the northern lights. He knows a whole lot about the Aurora and Yellowknife in general, so the tour is very fun with him. We ended up being friends for the weekend that we stayed in Yellowknife for our honeymoon. We went in September to see the Aurora and enjoyed a beautiful light show! He gave us delicious maple cookies and another cultural snack they have. It's a good tour because you go "aurora hunting" as opposed to staying at the same place, so you have a better chance of seeing the lights. It IS VERY cold while waiting for the Aurora (a little TOO much for me) so take a lot of warm clothes with you. It's worth the money and the wait and the cold. Also, he takes your pictures with the Aurora and sends it to you for free, which you won't get in any other tour (Aurora Village charge about $25 for it). Joe also took us on a day tour the next day around Yellowknife to see the surroundings and take pictures, it was loads of fun!!! I Recommend this 100%.

“Made my trip”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2012

I was a little hesitant to do the tour at first, but decided to go at the last minute and it made my trip. Northstar Joe is an amazing guide with plenty of fun stories. As for the aurora borealis, they were a real spectacle! I've never seen anything like it before. Thank you Joe for making this such a wonderful experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who happens to be in Yellowknife and wants to experience northern lights.
