Very good facility. Very informative with nature and social displays. Easy venue to take your time and enjoy. It is free. Close to downtown Yellowknife so access by foot was easy. Had lunch at cafe/restaurant and it was good.
The staff were nice and ready to advise about the city main attractions as well as the Territory . A must for visitors :-)
Spent the first day taking in the culture and learning about the way of life in Yellowknife and then visited the cafe to finish it off.(the gingersnap cookies were the best!!) We loved it so much we went back another day and really participated with all of the interactive elements in the museum. A must see for all ages.
The Northern Frontier Visitors Centre is a great place to learn some history about the city of Yellowknife. This place has some nice exhibits showcasing the wildlife around the area past and present and information about the area. There was also a lovely little cafe located on the top floor.
The exhibits are excellent and the building is beautiful. Obviously the federal government is giving mucho $$$ to NWT and it has resulted in an excellent exhibit. Learned a lot and the photograph collections are so special. If there had been a gift shop with some prints, we'd definitely have bought some. Too bad!
There office has moved and signage to find new location is poor .
One clerk on duty who didn't seem to know much about the area .
