“Nice little pub”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

The Duke of Duckworth is a nice little pub that's very busy, but a great stop in St. John's. Had the fish and chips. The fish was very nicely cooked, and the chips were delicious with gravy and dressing. Enjoyed a couple pints of Quidi Vidi honey brown, which was also lovely. Busy spot, but definitely worth checking out.

“Delicious!”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

The best fish and chips in the city! And remember to say yes to dressing and gravy on your fries (for those who don't know - we didn't - dressing is turkey stuffing). You should try it at least once!

“Best fish and chips”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

By far the best fish and chips in St Johns. Other menu items were available. The beer was cold and the atmosphere (we sat outside) was very good as was the service. Highly recommend for fish and chips.

“Favorite fish n chips in St. John's! Try the cod bites”
Reviewed August 21, 2013 via mobile

The fish n chips are reliably great! Light crunchy batter, flavorful fish. 1-2 pieces is a generous dish; 3 pieces is huge! My favorite is the cod bites. Each "bite" is more like 2-3 bites, each with a perfect crunch.

When asked if you want gravy, the answer is yes. It's awesome on the fries!

It's a small place, so seating is limited. I prefer inside to the patio. The patio is covered, and there's no people-watching to be had. The view is the sides of neighboring building. Colorless compared to the interior, which has all the character of an old English pub.
