“Good Place for fish and chips”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

This place had a good review for fish and chips on a few websites so we gave it a shot. Think the chips were average but the fish was really nice. The portions were also a decent size. The place is physically small, I imagine it must get quite packed at certain times of the day, but we went mid afternoon and had no problem getting a place to sit and we had good service.

“Great fish'n chips!!!!”
Reviewed July 2, 2013 via mobile

This is a true pub experience. The interior is just like an English pub. The service is fast and friendly.

I have had the fish and chips now three times. It is soft and flaky. The fries are crispy and ready for the malt vinegar. It is a fantastic meal.

“Fish & chips a must”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

Excellent fish and chips and a good selection of beer on tap. Also the usual good service found in Newfoundland.

“Mingle with the Locals and eat the Freshest Fish”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Duke's has the best fish and chips on the eastern coast of Newfoundland. Don't let anyone tell you differently. The batter is light, crisp and well-seasoned. The fish is moist and fresh and flavorful.
I wouldn't go too late in the evening, though. The kitchen closes at 8 pm, and the fish served then is not their best.

“no tables to be had”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

This place is busy & fun. Fish & chiops was great, and the atmosphere was busy. Two friends and I went for supper, shared a table with two locals (no other space open, and they were nice enough to let us sit with them). What a great way to hear some local stories and history.
