Great food, really enjoyed the spicy tomato bisque and curry dish. Plenty of choices on the menu, nice decor and good service. Much larger dining area than one would expect from the exterior. Downstairs and loft dining available and a good sized bar. Dined their early in the evening so can't comment on the bar scene. Good location in downtown St. John's. Parking can be a challenge depending on day and time.

So so food, average service, nothing particularly middle eastern about this place....

Quality has been inconsistent on previous visits but on both occasions during this trip, the food was consistently good. Pleasant atmosphere and some staff are very welcoming; some are more interested in socialising with their regulars which is fair enough but no visitor should be ignored.

I've been there twice in the past few months with friends. The menu is fairly limited, but the choices are interesting and varied. On average, the meals have been good to great, and priced on par with most downtown restaurants. The service however has spanned from very good to very poor. When it was very poor, the server forgot one diner's appetizer and didn't put a rush on it, so his bowl of soup arrived when everyone else was finished. Then he claimed the kitchen had made an error on the order (when he clearly could see that what he was delivering to the table was not what he "apparently" ordered from the kitchen). He was unapologetic, and just excuses (that the kitchen screwed up). My tip *should* have been not monetary, but a bit of advice - if you are too spaced out to remember the order, WRITE IT DOWN! I might give Casbah another try, based on a previous visit, which was perfectly fine.

decent service and nice enough atmosphere but the food was amazing. Best steak I've ever had...from the cut to the glaze and cooked to perfection.
