Amazing singers and entertainers! Food is better than average. Will return often. The welcome is great and the atmosphere second to none. All visitors to our fine capital should get tickets.

Looking for somwhere different for a holiday, somewhere away from the "ordinary"? Then try St.John's, Newfoundland, Canada.
Ok so it does take time to get there from UK. but there are regular flights through Heathrow Airport at reasonable prices.
Attractions are plentiful, museums, galleries, walks and parks, most of all the scenery is stunning. Visit Cabot Tower on Signal Hill guarding the east side of the harbour entrance or the old battery at Cahil Point on the west side. Day trips by boat can be taken from the harbour to see whales at close quarters as they breach and spout, a sight no to be missed. During the early months large icebergs can be seen majestically floating south along the Atlantic coastline. August sees the annual regatta on Quidi Vidi Lake when teams of rowers take to the waters and try for the fastest times over one or two lengths. Take a drive out to the Geo centre located close to George's Pond on Signal hill and spent time browsing around this fascinating museum carved out of the living rock, here too one can take time studying the impressive S.S.Titanic exhibition.
St.John's has a lot to offer, and more, but be careful of your travel arrangements. You may probably fly through Montreall or Toronto to St.John's from Europe but there is always a possibility of your return flight taking you through Newark. Make sure you have an American visa before your holiday starts. Lack of an American visa will see you stranded at St.John's airport until you can get one. They are available on line, and there are internet connections at the airport but they are costly and not too easy to negotiate in a hurry.
Be safe, got your visa from:- https://estaapply.net/uk/?gclid=CM2B2tKBsbUCFeXLtAodFyoAUg
before you go.
Enjoy St.John's. The people are very friendly, the food is good and accommodation is both plentiful and reasonably priced.

Thank Ron P

The Spirit of Newfoundland is a wonderful place to have a group luncheon. Prior to Christmas we reserved a table for 14. Never being there before I was really looking forward to a nice meal with some local entertainment. I was not dissapointed in the least. The soup, and salad was self serve and was fresh, homemade and delicious. The entree which followed was very good as well. The entertainment was fantastic Shelley Neville and partner were funny and extremely engaging and talented. Especially Ms Neville. I was talking about her singing ability the entire weekend. I would recommend going for lunch. The only downside is parking. In downtown St. John's you have to be prepared for a short hike based on parking availibilty. So keeping that in mind it will give you an opportunity to work off some the calories from your lunch. Enjoy!!!
