We planned to get to the airport in time to enjoy a leisurely meal before our early evening departure from St. John's. Upon entering the Destinations Restaurant, we were told to sit where we liked, so we couldn't really blame the bartender for the cold column of air that drilled down on the booth we selected. After bringing this "feature" to his attention we were told there was nothing he could do about it, but he conceded that we could move to the next booth where the downdraft wasn't quite as chilling. As it turned out, the taco salad and the special Thanksgiving meal turned out to be culinary disasters that we never want to relive again. While we enjoyed our getaway to Newfoundland immensely and vowed to return again soon, on subsequent visits we will be sure to eat before coming to the airport.
