“Interesting, relaxing ...stroll”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

Spring, Summer and fall.....Perfect place to take close up pictures of local plants and flowers. Various events and workshops in the fall. Nice walking trails wrap around to enter the hot houses. Enjoy a cup of tea and lunch at the small cafe.

“Peaceful and relaxing ....”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

On holiday here in Newfoundland and came across the MUN, Botanical gardens, easy place to find and the gardens is project of the Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John's. Entry fee is about $6 CAD for adults and $5 CAD if you are over 60. At the start of the trails and gardens there is a small restaurant were you can get home bakes, coffee, sandwiches and a small menu of other foods. We spend about an hour over coffee and a sweet (Triple berry crumble, to die for)

The trails and gardens were well marked and the gardens were well stocked, we really enjoyed the walks and the Oxen Pond was really beautiful.

I'm no botanist, however, I really enjoyed the place and would really recommend a visit here, but give yourself time to enjoy the peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.

“Small but impressive.”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

The ornamental gardens were very nice, the hikes are good and easy. It's impressive how they can grow some the plants in such a northern climate. We'll return.

“A tranquil setting”
Reviewed July 24, 2012

I definitely was not expecting this to be quite so spectacular. The botanical gardens are amongst the most magnificent I have ever seen. Delightful way to spend a leisurely hour or two. The cafe is charming with sinfully good food.
