The Titanic story, the rock types, the movie about the earth- all were very interesting.

The oil production part was less interesting for me, perhaps because i have seen similar exhibits before.

I took my family to the Geo Centre not expecting much. As members at the Discovery Centre in Halifax, I was happy to learn our membership would allow us free access to the Geo Centre (if only I had remembered my card). There was the expected "tribute" to the oil and gas industry...which my 4 year old loved. There was also great exhibits on volcanos, the history of the earth, planets and space. Overall a great facility and worth the price of admission. Great stop before you head up the hill to take in the sights from Signal Hill.

Loved the Geo Center. We thought it was just for kids when we first went in but four adults found enough to keep us entertained for the afternoon. Great exhibits, very interesting

Great exhibits, for adults and kids. (even a kid-zone). Most of it is underground, with Signal Hill rock formation part of the inside wall. Excellent interpretive panels, lots of samples of rocks to touch. I felt like a geology expert after that!(If I could remember all the names and age)
Exxon gas and oïl exhibit:super informative, the how, the why and the cost of oïl exploration explained.
Ice age, earthquakes, space all explained. Solar system above your head. A number of movies to watch. (did not have time)
Lots of interactive panels, and "touch" exhibits.
A superb Titanic exhibit. All information well displayed, a new way of learning about Titanic.
Also part of the centre but free at any time is their geological and botanical trails (could not go because of rain)
A must-go, see and touch!

A visit here is an education. You will learn a lot about Newfoundland; it's geography, resources and history.
