This trail is tucked away in the middle of our City. I always knew it was there but never took the time to check it out. Recently, I took my dogs for a walk there and I was blown away with how beautilful and peacefull this place was. The river and gentle rapids made me feel like I was hours outside the City, and yet I was only 2mins from work and 7 mins from home.

The Rennie's River Trail is a delightful walk in any season (except during high spring flood). A calm respite from the the busy city it provides a green corridor from downtown to near the university. Part of the Grand Concourse, it's not to be missed and there's even an outdoor gym along the way to get your workout in/on.

The Rennie's River trail follows what I might call a stream that flows through St. John's and your could make a nice day out of it if you take your time and stop often.

Stopping often is easy because the trail runs around Quidi Vidi lake and also past parks, other lakes and offers some picnic tables and benches along the way.

There are little bridges along the narrow trail as it crosses the water. We saw a few people fishing and a dog swimming in the warm August water. The trail passes a really nice tennis club too.

This would be a nice walk for a couple or family with young kids.

Beautiful trail (part of the Grand Concourse) with much variety. A fabulous way to tour the city and see the true local flavour.

This trail is one of St. John's best gems, and that's saying something. The river is beautiful to walk alongside, and the trail is beautifully maintained - except in winter, when visitors afraid of slipping should think twice about venturing on it. Other than that, no trip to St. John's would be complete without a walk along part of this lovely river.
