Went here for breakfast twice when visiting St. John's. The coffee was great. Had the sausage roll one day (yummy) and a chicken pesto sandwich the next. The food is fresh, the staff friendly the the atmosphere inviting. I recommend it.

stopped in to Rockets every day we were in St. John's. Yummy food (loved the quiche) and hubby loved the pulled pork pocket. Shortbread cookies with choc chips were addictive. Staff was fun, lively. Atmosphere was artsy & entertaining. You must stop in!

We had just got into St. Johns the night before and were looking for some real down home Newfoundland flavour for lunch. Wow did we get it. Great food in both the deli and bakery. Had their fish cakes which we were warned were to die for. We’re still living, but just. Coffee bar was great and the staff were friendly. Take a number card sitting in an old Toaster (that’s right) and waited to be called. Didn’t take long. Popular place as my wife got the last cinnamon bun, with the guy before her taking 6. Get your order from the deli, coffee nook or bakery and pay after you had it all together. Nobody watching to make sure you paid. All on the honour system. The facility is in two parts with old style tables and chairs in the next room. There were 4 guys beating on instruments playing good old down home music. What a first day in Newfoundland. I took some photos and the owner noticed and came over to me and started talking to us as if she’d known us her whole life (see attached photo). The place reminded me of the cafes we used to have in the 1950s and 60’s and the décor matched that as well. All it needed was a pot bellied stove in the corner. Truly a unique experience and great introduction to the friendly people of Newfoundland. We came back the next morning to load up before heading out on the road to see the rest of the province. Ya gotta come here, Bye.

We were in town visiting family and because of the clip they had of this place on the show "You gotta eat here." we decided to check this place out. The show had me under the impression that the food was made fresh, which I'm sure it is in the morning, it's just not made to order. Everything is in display cases for you to choose from, upon arrival. Unless you're ordering a sandwich, than they make those. Unfortunately when we arrived, they were all sold out?

I had a burrito & a latte, which were both delicious.
The service was friendly, but the checking out ended up being a little bit confusing, but only because there's two tills & they tell you to go to one, but if it was busy they sent you to the other side, which is fine, but if you're carrying a tray full of stuff,(your order), it's definitely a balancing act.

The atmosphere was lively, there was people constantly going in and out.

We tried returning a few days later cause the coffee is delicious and the baking looked enticing, but because my daughters stroller didn't end up fitting through the front door, we just went up the street. Will have to return with a less wide stroller, or no stroller at all.
