Description: AUTHENTIC NEAPOLITAN WOOD-FIRED PIZZA | VPN-CERTIFIED Piatto is a gathering place centred around a passion for fine food, fabulous wines, friends and family. Check out the little gems we've come across—diverse wines from across the globe, authentic Neapolitan wood-fired pizza, coffee and fabulous desserts—all in a casual atmosphere and with reasonable prices. In our world, authenticity is big. Our pizzaiolo use ingredients and procedures regulated by the Italian governing association (VPN)—so you experience a "true" pizza like you would find in the energetic pizzerias in Naples, Italy (but without the airfare).

“Soggy Pizza”

We were given advise to come and try out this place. You can tell St. John's people have nothing good Italian to compare to think this place is good. My pizza was half uncooked, with soggy wet dough, and the pepperoni was too soft and gross. Overall not a great experience!

“10th visit. Always good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2013

We have been here about 10 times now, often for takeout, sometimes seated. The pizzas are the best thin crust in the city, and the caesar salad is one of the best around. The deserts are also quite good. Wine selection good, and service good. Getting table can be hard, no reservations etc. But that is a sign of how good it is. We will be back more often. Prices are reasonable too.

“Great Restaurant”

This place has the best pizza in St Johns. The atmosphere is casual but exciting. Service is good and price is very fair.

“food was good, service was poor”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2013

Im not knocking their food, but I had a bad experience there with my friend at her birthday party, one of the lady's who served us ruined our experience by forgetting about us for most of the night. We had a table of 12, and we were upstairs in their private room, and no-one asked us for a drink order for at least 30 minutes. Very frustrating experience.

“Simply Amazing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2013

Having been to Naples, where pizza was born, I can say that Piatto's pies are as traditional as they can be.
They only use 00 flour, San Marzano tomatoes and fior di latte mozzarella along with other fresh and unique ingredients in their hand-stretched pizze before placing them in a wood-burning oven.
The combinations are mouth-watering as are their appetizer and dessert selections.
A nice place to enjoy great food and a glass of vino with some friends or take that special someone to a nice dinner and impress her with your Italian.
