“Absolutely BEST Pizza in North America, So Far !!”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

We passed this restaurant while on a city tour, and a fellow passenger advised us to :"Go there for the best pizza"....so we did on Fri.June.14 at 5:30pm. On arrival, we were greeted by 'Kate', the owner and waited less than 2 minutes, and got the last table available. The decor is urban rustic Italian, if that makes sense. The visible fire-oven cooking area is very functional looking, staffed well and very clean. Our waiter was super prompt with taking our order, and bringing our two pizza's , caesar salad, and bottle of pinot grigio. We both reacted after just first tasting the pizza's, that they were without a doubt, the very best tasting pizza's we've both ever eaten anywhere, both at home in Toronto, On, and thru-out our life travels within North America. And we have been to many places, I can assure you ! Eating the pizza was one of those moments that you wished could last forever !!
Who would think that the best pizza would be served in St.John's Nfld ? Not we, but it sure was !!

“Fantastic pizza”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

We stopped in at Piatto's on a very busy night, were greeted warmly and waited only 10 minutes for a table. Great friendly service and a nice reasonably priced wine list. The salads were fresh and generously proportioned. The pizzas were delicious, fresh, flavourful and authentic. Lovely thin crust, tangy tomato sauce, and nicely seasoned toppings. I had the Marinara pizza and added caramelized onions and mushrooms. Delicious! We enjoyed our meal so much we are planning on going back to Piatto's before heading home.

“Not Horrible, But Not Great”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

My girlfriend from the mainland and I went down town, initially planning on going to a different restaurant however they were completely full, so we settled for the next restaurant we saw. Our lunch was decent, however it was nothing special like we were hoping. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to my family or friends.

“One of my favorite places to eat in St. John's”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

I have gone to Piatto with friends, family and on romantic evenings out. I love it. The decor is casual, but somehow sophisticated. It's unique to the city and not outrageously priced. The beet salad is divine and everyone I know loves the proscuitto wrapped cheese appetizer. Excuse my lack of precisely naming the menu items, but my Italian is seriously wanting! I've tried at least 4 different pizzas and I haven't been disappointed yet. It's so nice that there are yummy options without tomato sauce. The service is great too! They'll text you if there's a line-up, so you know when to come back for a table, and they offer great advice regarding their wines!

“Best Pizza in Newfoundland, So Far”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

If you're from New York, you just need to skip eating pizza until you get home from NL. But if you've been jonesing for a pie so long that you MUST take drastic measures, this is the best by far in Newfoundland to date. The sauce is tangy and the toppings are varied and mostly fresh. The atmosphere is fun and friendly and the service is good. Like most spots in St. John's, the prices are steep. Two small pizzas, two beers and one dessert came to over $60. If this place were in Brooklyn, it wouldn't last a week, but it does the job just fine in a province that specializes in fish.
