You often hear about the bar scene on George Street but it wasn't quite what I expected, although I don't know what I expected. The street has 2 "Gentlemen's" Clubs and mostly bars and pubs, and none of them look overly fancy from the street. I walked through mid-week in the daytime so can’t really judge. I bet it is a very lively and busy place at night.

It's hard To write a review on just George street with speaking of specific bars and whatnot. I like to go to George street with my friends every now and then. There is a bar for just about every different kind of person! There are sport bars, dance bars, bars that have live music and shows, bars where you can just relax and enjoy having a drink with friends, bars where you can order food, bars where you can be screeched in even! Also there are bars that have free cover which is always a bonus. Definitely worth coming and seeing!

Lots going on here! We visited a few of the bars. Goes to all hours. A bit more of a younger person's street.

George St was highly recommended prior to visiting. It's an unkempt bunch of tired and sloppy looking beer swilling pubs, and dance clubs for college hooligans and drunks. Each bar is jammed up against it's neighbour...hookers hung out at night.

We went bar hopping on Saturday night. This included getting "screeched in" at Trapper John's with the climax of kissing the cod.... a ' delightful ' experience of kissing an old frozen codfish after downing a shot of dark rum . Other highlights including watching "Stevie" a regular doing a jig on the dancefloor at O'Reilly's.
