“Must see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2012

If you visit St.John's Newfoundland, you must go up Signal Hill.

The views are amazing. The park is well linked to the walking trail network of St.John's and is easy to reach by car.

There is a very pretty trail that passes through the Battery area of St.John's.

“Visit frequently, sometimes more then once a week.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

View on a clear day very fails to impress, me even after dozens of visits. (maybe hundreds by this point). Unfortunately fog often reduces visabilety to mere feet. But you can see if it's foggy there from almost anywhere in the city. The exception is when the fog moves in as you're driving up the hill. Visability can go from miles to just feet in less then 5 minutes. The single biggest drawback which is NOT advertised is that there are no washroom facilities at the Tower. The closest washroom is at the interpretation center, halfway down the hill. DO NOT consider walking to the top if you have an upset stomach. There is an increadable hiking trail that runs down the side of the cliff and around to the base of the hill. Most of the steeper sections have wooden stairs and walkways. It should be a "must do" for anyone in even moderate health, and remember to take your camera. The views of the narrows (Hr. mouth) are fantastic.

“When you are in St. John's it's where you go”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2012

the views are great. It's just another one of those places you see while you are in st johns. I 100% recommend a boat tour as the 1st thing you do, you can see all the places you might want to visit from the water.

Tied in together. Really amazing when you think about the signifance of Marconis transmission, the history around the tower and the great piece of land the site is on that allows for exploration of trails and viewpoints unrivaled. Don't miss!
