We spent 2 nights at the Delta. The peiople were very pleasant and accomodating. Slightly busy due to the George Street festival so there was a slight wait for attention but very acceptable under the cirrcumstances. The king bed was not as comfortable as expected but the room was clean and fresh upon arrival and freshened daily. I woul;d definitely stay there agin for business or pleasure. The pool and fitness facilities were also very clean and well maintained.

Thank you for posting a review of the Delta St. John's following your recent stay. I do hope that any delays in service due to the volume of business associated with the George Street Festival were not lengthy and we thank you for your understanding. We do hope that you visit us again in the future

We had been in the wilds of Newfoundland for a week so it was wonderful to see a modern hotel. My room on the 8th floor overlooked a charming street. All amenities and hot water were there. Staff was k owledga le and nice even offering to mail a postcard for me. Breakfast buffet was bounteous and the best ever. Dinner for a group of 50 was understaffed and food overcooked but redeemed by decadent chocolate dessert.

The desk staff, concierage etc are all amazing. The rooms are good, fairly clean and very comfortable. Halls could use a bit of work but for the most part it was a great stay at the most centrally located hotel in all of St Johns. I used to stay at the Sheraton St Johns and I must say this was worth the switch.

Room Tip: The breakfast buffet is excellent!!!!!!

Very helpful staff. I asked how to make hot water and the room attendant called amd got me an electric kettle in a few minutes. Some things you gotta have.

Location is good for Water Street and the pubs.

There a convenience store up the hill to the left on Flower Hill.

Was away on vacation and spent two nights at this hotel. Hotel rooms are very tired looking. Upon arrival found nail clippings on floor...carpet in the hallway on the 5th floor was covered in potato chips and took almost 2 days before they were vacuumed up...what does this say about the housekeeping staff???
For the price we paid ($484.38) I would expect more. We did not even get breakfast and when we inquired we were told that is what we get for booking our reservations on-line. Also had to pay for parking....would never again stay at this hotel. Very disappointed!!!!!!

Room Tip: If you do decide to stay at this hotel ask for a room that over looks the water

We had a room on the 5th floor overlooking the back of the hotel so no real view. We were there for a conference so had no choice of hotel. The room was kept very clean but some housekeeping items were hit and miss during our stay. One day I had to ask for hand towels as they had removed all the used ones but had not replaced them. I couldn't get a response from Housekeeping so had to call the hotel operator. The replacement towels along with extra bath towels and face clothes were brought up very quickly. Another day the garbage and recycling were not emptied, so nothing big just odd little things.

The room is a good size with a comfortable king size bed. The room is starting to get a little tired with such things as the carpet starting to get very worn at the doorway and stains on the blackout drapes. The drapes work very well at keeping it dark for sleeping. The shower head is so strong that every time i took a shower I felt like I was losing a layer of skin. Not a problem if you like a really strong shower but we prefer something a little less forceful.

All the staff was very friendly and pleasant. The service on occasion in Quinn's could be hit and miss. We stopped by for a drink one afternoon, got our drink then they got busy all of a sudden and it was hard to get a glass of water and our bill. The water turned out to be undrinkable. I am assuming it was the glasses being over-bleached because I drank the water from the room the entire week and had no problem. I finally went up to the bar and asked for our bill.

What it really has going for it is the location, it is great and if you are lucky enough or pay enough having a water view really adds to the stay. It is very close to restaurants and the waterfront. It is at the opposite end of the waterfront from Signal Hill but everything else is easy access. There is a hop on hop off trolley stop right outside the door so very convenient for getting around to most of the major sites.

I used to stay at this hotel when ever I was in St. John's on business more than 10 years ago. The hotel is a little difficult to find if you're driving. The roads are narrow and hilly. What you would expect from a 500 years old city in North America. The hotel rooms are definitely showing their age, however, the hotel itself appears to have been renovated. The lobby is quite large and has many items of historical interest, You will be greeted by a very friendly staff member for your check in. I only used the restaurant for breakfast and it was very good but pricey, the servers were very friendly and bent over backwards to make your stay perfect. Parking in front of the hotel to check in was difficult due to the abundance of no parking signs and taxis, the front desk staff said that if you're checking in, you can disregard the no parking signs and the taxis don't have priority parking at the hotel. Public transit is available near the hotel, so if you were nervous about driving in the city, it's a great way to go. On the bottom floor is a large swimming pool, top notch gym, hot tub and a dry sauna, very relaxing after a long day. Shopping, sightseeing, restaurants and night life are all within walking distance of the hotel.

Room Tip: There are three elevators to all floors so getting to your room isn't difficult. I recommend a h...
