Owner description: A beautiful stone church built in 1847.

We were greeted by two guides at this beautiful church. They were both very helpful, even if we came in at closing time. They took the time to explain the features of this church, particularly the stained glass windows. It is in sharp contrast with St John the Baptist Basilica a short walk away. It's style is similar to gothic european stone cathederals.

The doors were wide open - very welcoming. The ceiling is stunning and the stain glass windows are world class. A local was outside when we were leaving, and he pointed out some local sites to us which made us feel very welcome.

I also loved the curve of the pews and the iron shape of the kneelers.

What a wonderful value and great afternoon tea! All homemade goodies, lovely cream, jams and lemonade too! The Church Ladies are so charming and the treats were great! Glad they are doing this though the Volunteer hours must be staggering.

The whole family really enjoyed the tour of the church, the statues are incredible the detail in the ceiling is unbelievable considering the church was built in the early 1800's.

We had tea in the crypt, which was a very interesting experience. Basically, for $8 each, you get bottomless cups of tea and plates full of freshly baked treats- cookies, breads, scones, cakes, tarts, etc. etc. etc. Its a very friendly and very local experience.
