My family and I recently made reservations for 3 nights of camping at Parlee Beach Provincial Park. We set the address in our GPS but were surprised to find the entrance had been changed to another street. When we found the entrance, we were greeted by several dump trucks and other heavy equipment all around the campground. We checked in and made our way to our site. Once we got there, it was quite evident that the noise from the construction equipment could be heard from everywhere in the campground. After discussing the situation with my wife, we both figured that in no way would our 2 year old and 8 week old would be able to have their much needed nap in a construction site. We headed to the reception desk but the front door was locked. It took about 10 minutes for us to be able to get someone to come to the door. I guess the door had been locked accidentally. We finally asked to cancel our reservations which was no problem. However, we were charged for one night stay, and a cancelation fee. I didn't make a fuss with the workers, cause I know they don't make the rules. Back to Fredericton we went...
All sites are one on top of the other, there are tree roots everywhere, busy roads on all sides, and the beach is not a simple walk away (specially with kids). Its over 1/2 km walk on a busy road. I would never camp here...EVER.
