“Believe the reviews”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

My family and I recently made reservations for 3 nights of camping at Parlee Beach Provincial Park. We set the address in our GPS but were surprised to find the entrance had been changed to another street. When we found the entrance, we were greeted by several dump trucks and other heavy equipment all around the campground. We checked in and made our way to our site. Once we got there, it was quite evident that the noise from the construction equipment could be heard from everywhere in the campground. After discussing the situation with my wife, we both figured that in no way would our 2 year old and 8 week old would be able to have their much needed nap in a construction site. We headed to the reception desk but the front door was locked. It took about 10 minutes for us to be able to get someone to come to the door. I guess the door had been locked accidentally. We finally asked to cancel our reservations which was no problem. However, we were charged for one night stay, and a cancelation fee. I didn't make a fuss with the workers, cause I know they don't make the rules. Back to Fredericton we went...

All sites are one on top of the other, there are tree roots everywhere, busy roads on all sides, and the beach is not a simple walk away (specially with kids). Its over 1/2 km walk on a busy road. I would never camp here...EVER.

Close to the beach , Has rules like other campgrounds , It's located probably 1/2 km from Parlee beach itself, It's open seasonal, No permanent sites though. Great for the traveller and overnight/weekend warrior

Everything posted here by previous reviewers is true. The sites are one on top of the other. No privacy whatsoever. Thefirst sitewe were given was occupied by someone else. The second site they gave us we couldn't park our minivan in, let alone pitch a tent. The third and final spot we got was so full of exposed tree roots it was hard to find a place to put the tent. We were only passing through for one night so we stuck it out. I guess i should have taken the hint when trying to book the reservation because it took 3 days for someone to get back to me with a reservation...that was after 2 voicemails and an email! Parlee beach is spectacular though.

My fiance and I stay here once or twice a month during the summer, and the only reason we return over and over is for the location. It is a 10 minute walk from the campground to Parlee Beach so it is very close and saves the $11 a day it costs to park at the beach. However it is by far the worst campground we`ve ever stayed at. The bathrooms are usually dirty, as are the showers. There always seems to be garbage around the campsites and the staff are RUDE. We`ve been coming here for 3 years and everytime we stay here we have had an issue with staff members being rude and unhelpful. There are only a handful of good campsites, most are riight on top of each other with no privacy, however there are a few good sites. If your main concern is being close to the beach, than this is the spot for you, just don`t expect what you would get at most provincial parks.

I cannot believe how rude the staff at this campground were towards us from the moment we said we were not a family group. They said things like 'we know your type', 'we will be over numerous times tonight to ensure you are obeying quiet hours'. We felt very unwelcome in this campground. We were not there to be loud / roudy! Just camp, have a campfire and sleep. They insinuated we were going to be yelling and screaming and running around all hours of the night. The age range of our group was 25-28.

The campground was full and we were in the overflow area where we booked three sites side by side to accommodate the 9 people on our trip. One of the site was full of glass, which luckily they did come and clean up for us. Note: do not go barefoot!

The bathrooms were mediocre clean. Showers were gross! Trust me and take the 10 minutes it takes to walk down to the beach and shower there, they are MUCH cleaner.

From my perspective the only thing really going for this place is the location. I will not be returning.

It was $1 for a 4mins shower, there were cockroaches ALL over (laundry room, bathroom) and the tent sites were horrible (not level and when it rained all of the sites were swamped - ALL of them). On top of that, we did laundry and put our clothes in the dryer and it didn't work. We put our money in, came back 30mins later and the dryer was spinning but our clothes were still wet. Horrible. And it's supposed to be a Provincial Park (provicne owns it but it's privately run).
