A delightful old residence right in the historic part of downtown Saint John. Carl & Jim were most welcoming and had lots of suggestions of what to see and do and where to eat.

Breakfast on our first day included home made French Toast and on our second day home made pancakes as well as fresh fruit salad coffee etc

Good day. Thank you for the review of our property. We are very pleased that your stay with us was very positive. We strive very hard to meet and hopefully exceed the expectations of our guests. It was clearly a pleasure to share our home with you. Hopefully we will have another opportunity to do so.

The owners Carl and Jim make this the place to stay. Extremely helpful, their suggestions on what to do in town made for a wonderful evening. Jim was right that we would leave Britt's bar only after getting to become best friends with everyone there. The breakfast was incredible too. Everything was walking distance.

The home is located in a beautiful historic area of Saint John. The home itself is beautiful inside and out. The breakfast was delicious and Carl and Jim were excellent hosts. They were always helpful in answering our questions. The location is perfect for exploring the downtown area, restaurants, waterfront, and the historic area. The cruise ships can be seen from the B and B also. Loved Saint John and the Mahogany Manor, thank you Carl and Jim for a wonderful stay.

We have stayd in this B&B and read all the fantastic stories. Honestly I do not think it is special. The cat is for an allergic guy not the best idea. There are better places in this city. Our hosts were not that friendly - it was not a nice chat, more an interrogation interview as soon as we entered the door.

I feel badly that your stay did not meet your expectations but I am uncertain if their was anything we could have done to change the outcome. I always find it interesting to look at other reviews done by the same person - you have done three reviews and two of them were very critical without specifics.

We have always had a house cat - Oliver and before him Harrison. We respect that some people have allergies but we limit his access to guest rooms and he is of a breed that produces the least amount oif dander of any breed. Many of our guests are thrilled that we have a house cat and Oliver gets lots of loving from people separated from their own pets while travelling.

We have found over the years, that a tour of our home maximizes the persons ability to enjoy all of the amenities available - Kitchen access/usage, TV, laundry, WiFi, telephone, garden areas, emergency exits, massage, business centre, keys/security. We also like to introduce people to our city, providing them with information about sites, restaurants, historic walking tours, tide times and maps. Most people are very thankful to receive this information in a concise manner and find it helps them to enjoy their stay. In 12 years you are the first persons to see it in the light expressed.

I am pleased that seasoned travellers will look at the big picture and note the number of great reviews and their comments. Our best days have just begun! There are always things that we strive to improve upon, but we are not going to have the cat put down or change our orientation to the property because for the majority of guests these are positive, helpful and contribute to a great stay.

We stayed here twice for two nights each on our way to and from Cape Breton. Carl and Jim are excellent and welcoming hosts. They gave great advice about what to do and where to eat during our short time in their city. Everything was tasteful and comfortable. The rooms were clean and need, but not sterile and impersonal. The bed was comfortable. Even the other guests were friendly and talkative. Breakfast was a fun time with Jim's excellent food.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good

We are pleased you had a great experience at our B&B and more importantly in our city. Saint John has so much to offer and it was our pleasure to point you in good directions to allow you to have a brief but positive experience. We hope to have the opportunity to make your next stay as pleasant.

Our best regards!
