We stumbled upon this GORGEOUS old church building while meandering through the downtown. It was a striking and beautiful sight against a crystal clear blue sky. We did not venture inside, but truly loved seeing this beautiful grand, old expression of faith, hope, and love in the midst of this tough city.

Upon entering a very nice young man asked if we wanted a tour. We asked him many questions without the tour to which he was quick to respond. Lovely stained glass backdrop to altar. Nice but brief stop.

Over a century old Anglican church - nothing extraordinary, but staff available to answer questions and provide guided tour. A nice stop, if you have a few minutes.

The town clock on the 60 ft spire still marks the quarter hour with Westminster chimes, the salmon shaped weather vane that once told mariners how much sail to set still graces the pinnacle. Inside 150 year-old flags hang in the nave. Cushions ease the posterior if the sermon stretch too long. I visited a Monday Night for a regular Summer presentation this date a concert on the newly revamped electronic organ. I was not sold. The cathedral offers tours 9-5 most days. The resident ghost does not require a key. Parking is non-existent weekdays. Free Sundays and evenings. Massive set of steps to the main entrance.

I don't often stop to look inside a church on a tour, but our guide was excited to show us. I'm glad he was. There is a lot of history surrounding this church, and the young ladies inside are a wealth of information. It is gorgeous inside and out. You can stay for just a few minutes to appreciate this church, so you definitely have time in your visit. It's worth it.
