During our motorcycle trip through the Maritimes, we stayed one night at the Chateau Saint John (wish it had been for more nights). This was not doubt the best hotel we stayed in during our entire 14 day trip. The hotel itself is very comfortable, provides a hot breakfast which is included in the price, free underground parking and free Wifi, which quite frankly all hotels should include in their room cost. The service was top notch. The young lady at the front desk was informative and accommodating and it was evident she was proud to be working for and representing the Cheateau. The only one negative I can mention is the location which is a bit of a hike from downtown. If you have a vehicle, it's not a problem but otherwise you would have to take a taxi. There is not much in the surrounding area as far restaurants, etc. This hotel is definitely great value. I would stay again in a heart beat.

We stayed at Chateau Saint John while on a maritime road trip. The hotel is located outside the Saint John Center, convenient to highways but a good steep walk to downtown shops and restaurants.
Other than an average location, the hotel is exceptional. Clean, friendly, well equipped, good beds, safe, fridge, quiet A/C.... All of it is A-OK and reasonably priced.

Gorgeous hotel, excellent rates, good breakfast. Also great staff who helped us arrange a birthday dinner from Thali for our 13 yo and answered a million questions with not a hint of annoyance. The only thing that would make this hotel better would be a pool. We would definitely, however, stay there again, even without the pool.

What a lovely place to stay. My husband and I stayed here on our way home from our honeymoon. It was one of the nicest places we had stayed during all our travels.
We were greeted by very friendly staff when we arrived very late at night. They were very welcoming and helpful.

Our room was very large for a hotel room, the bed was very very comfortable!! Which we were very happy about after previous nights. The room and hotel were decorated lovely. The bathrooms were large and had very nice amenities.

Breakfast in the am which was included in the great room price was very good. It had a lot of selection of breads, danishes, muffins, cereal, fruit and yogurt. The only small downside was there was no hot food (eggs, sausage or bacon, waffles/pancakes). Also it would have been nice if breakfast went until 11 instead of 10.

Overall it was a great experience at this hotel. I will definitely stay here again if we are in the area and recommend it to others.

We stayed at the Chateau St. John for one night on our way to PEI. Wow - very nice rooms for the price! My 6 year old son was very impressed that we were staying in such a "posh" place. The checking ladies were very friendly and readily pointed me in the right direction for a restaurant. The downside of the hotel is the lack of a restaurant and a pool but that is how they keep the prices low. It is likely geared towards business travellers but it worked for us for a passthru stop. I have to admit that the neighborhood is a bit scary and I certainly wouldn't walk around there at night. I had never been to St. John so it gave me a bit of a negative view of the town. I'm sure there are nicer areas but we didn't get to them.

We stayed here on our way up to PEi. We arrived late, and the staff couldn't have been any friendlier. Often, the night staff at a hotel are not the best, but this crew was great.

The room was large and comfortable, but a bit dark (why is every hotel room designed to make bats feel comfortable, but not humans?). Also clean and comfortable. We had a good breakfast the next morning at the breakfast buffet (included), and were on our way.
