We come here once a year on the way to halifax, and count on it for road food that's tasty and healthy and an independent entrepreneur. Walls are 60s rock and folk; could be updated by a few things that have happened since. But food is groovy,as are prices.
Good on fair trade, but not noticably local or sustainable in suppliers.

This is a delightful cafe with specialty coffee and pastries, wonderful sandwiches and traditional diner food. Delightful cakes, pastries, cookies and other wonderful treats to choose from to go with your fresh made coffee from in-store ground coffee beans.

They offer a variety of sandwiches on fresh made rolls and buns, fresh veggies and a nice selection of cheeses as well.

In addition to coffee they have soft drinks and beer. Food comes in the traditional paper-lined baskets, plenty of tables to accomodate groups from a couple to a large familiy, and a very friendly staff. It's really just a nice, enjoyable cafe for a meal, a snack, or just a nice place to have a cup of coffee and enjoy some peaceful solitude. Although I couldn't eat the desserts because of a lack of sugar-free offerings and my diabetes, I must say their brownies looked wonderful and were certainly quite tempting.

Give them a try, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Limited parking spaces on the street along a nice, downtown street with quaint shops makes the entire visit a delightful experience.

Delicious hummus, toasted pita and greek salad for lunch on a cold and rainy day in May. Good coffee. Everybody in the place on a laptop or iPad and college was out for the summer! Nice vibe. Really friendly server, also made my lunch.

Beware, it clears out Saturdays for the farmer's market.

On the surface, a cool little hangout in a cool little town; but realy, it's over priced reheated processed food from Costco, SLOW service, and the place could use a good scrubbing. Coffee is mediocre at best- go up the street to the Cackling Goose for a far better cup.
