“Dissapointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2014

My room was comfortable enough if you don't mind being surrounded by dozens of dolls, plastic flowers and fluffy bunnies. I woke up and found the place deserted of any staff and waited 20 minutes before anyone appeared. I was then told that breakfast was not included in the $100 price tag, which is the basic principle behind a B&B. During my stay I only ever seen one member of staff who unsuccessfully tried to do every job from being the desk clerk to cooking pancakes. For the price of my stay and the large size of the property I think they could afford to hire more than one member of staff. The location is good because it is within walking distance of the downtown core but I did not find the level of service worth it and I would look elsewhere next time I stay in Sackville. Marshlands was recommended to me by a friend but I found it be a chintzy, over priced and over rated.

The room was large enough and the washroom more a throwback to earlier days (shower in clawfoot tub) than a modern tiled & chrome. The decor in the room was a little too granny doily but when the lights are out you don't notice. The inn itself is quite beautiful and relatively secluded. Fine restaurant on the ground floor.

We stayed at this inn for the past number of years always choosing the 2 day package. This package includes 2 three course dinners plus wine and 2 full breakfasts. This package is a great deal as the food is excellent and the inn is charming. Yes the service can be slow on occassion but when the food arrives we are always satisfied with the quality and taste.
We stayed at the inn and the carriage house and found both to be very relaxing. Very soft towels in bathrooms. The gardens are beautiful. We will definitely stay here again.

We stayed in the carriage house portion. Very nice. The food in the restaurant is also excellent. A few small items prevented this from getting 5 stars. I had to reboot the router to get Internet, the service in the restaurant could have been better. So not 5 stars but certainly a great place to stay.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night through their week-end getaway package. This was a great deal considering that it included a three course dinner and full breakfast, both of which were delicious. The hotel itself was charming, the only drawback is that the service was so-so. I think this was probably a combination of under staffing and the manager being a bit slow to attend to guest needs. Overall a great experience though.

Stayed here overnight and it was great. The Inn iis beautiful and the gardens are amazing. The
inn has a tranquil and relaxing feel to it. Our room was upstairs and it was amazingly set up to suit the era. What really stood out for us however was the finer details put in by the owners to ensure travellers felt welcome - sweets magazines and the best bath towels I have yet to find in any hotel establishments. The inn is located within a few minutes walk to cafes.

The Marshlands is the inn of Sackville. It has a long history as witnessed by the pictures of Victoria and Albert in the hallway. The cooking is very good. The seafood en croute makes a delightful Maritime lunch. The rooms also take you back to the Victorian era. However, one British guest found the proliferation of dolls to be a little scary, like something out of a Chucky movie! Also the tape of Crosby and ABBA at breakfast got a little wearing. However, the package is a good deal, as you can order anything from the menu.
