“Fantastic food and experience, lived up...”
Reviewed August 14, 2010

Fantastic food and experience, lived up to the hype. Our waiter was a bit cold until he realized we were spending some money, but overall prices were reasonable. We would eat here again if visiting Moncton.

“We are still talking about the lobster a week later!”
Reviewed December 9, 2009

We searched online for the "best seafood" restaurant before visiting Moncton for the first time, and found Little Louis' to have consistently good reviews. We decided to try it for ourselves, and here is what we liked: the atmosphere was warm and cozy (great for a wintery night) and was tastefully decorated for the season. Our waiter was very friendly and took pride in his work. The food was AMAZING. I had the surf and turf (venison and lobster) and my boyfriend had the duck. A definite recommendation for foodies! The only negative was that even though we had a reservation for eight forty five, we were not seated until twenty after nine. Perhaps a complimentary drink or at least an apology would have soothed this situation. (This is why I nicked them a point for service). A lot of reviews have commented that the prices are high; perhaps it is for Moncton, but we found it extremely reasonable for the quality. We had a bottle of Ravenswood Zinfandel, two appetizers, mineral water, two entree's, two desserts and fancy alcoholic coffees which resulted in a bill of $175 before tip. This is on par or cheaper than what we pay for similar meals at comparable restaurants in Toronto and New York. If you have a chance to go, I would highly recommend it!

“wow”
Reviewed September 5, 2009

This is not just a meal; it is quite a culinary experience. Chef Andrew Stevens plays with flavors and textures and impresses me every time. For food lovers, it is not to miss. The atmosphere is great, even though it does not look like it from the outside, as soon as you walk in, it changes completely. The service is very professional.
I can`t say enough good things about this wonderful restaurant... you have to try it for yourself. It is not cheap, be prepare to spend some money but it`s all worth it!

“Phenomenal”
Reviewed August 30, 2009

What can I say- Chef Andrew Stevens is a gift to the Maritimes! Enter this large commercial warehouse looking building and enter a small cushy elevator which delivers you up to cullinary heaven! The atmoshpere and decor is warm and elegant and the dining area is compartmentalised by varied floor treatments, semipermeable screens and plants which partially obscure the view from one side to the other. Over the blinded windows are stylised visors that resemble oyster shells. The lighting is just right for fine dining.

Soft-spoken server, Yussef, was great- knew his stuff and played the role to perfection. The dining experience was definitely heightened by his polite and careful explainations of what he was serving. Little Louis is all about passion for ingredients and excellent presentation. And in this light, Chef Stevens seems to have found himself a capable forager who drags in all sorts of exiting seasonal local flora and fauna from the wilds of Westmorland County. We enjoyed a superb appetiser of Stinging Nettle soup (I'm sure the forager was paid well to harvest that-ouch). Chanterelle accents abounded- very nice.

If you just need to get your fix of haute european dining, or just plain want the best that the Maritimes has too offer (hands down), this place does it in stripes. They even serve a DELICIOUS Calvados - and not the mediochre stuff they sell and NBLiquor - Gotta have my "Trou Normand".

And finally a restaurant where dessert is special again- and no longer just an incidental afterthought but a MUST. In Canada, dessert has all but left the menu, but Little Louis Oyster Bar offers excellent desserts that would give France's finer restaraunts a run for their money.

Oh yeah! and oysters ;-)

Enjoy- I know I'll be going back whenever I can afford to.
